Nomination of NetworkVirginia for deletion

I don't understand why this article is being considered for deletion. Network Virginia (which has now effectively evolved into the MARIA network) was a hugely important network in the Research and Education networking community. It made several advances in promoting unified access to broadband throughout Virginia, delivering access to K-12 schools, museums, colleges and universities, and many public sector entities, at uniform rates regardless of locale.
