Clarification of Rules

In an important endeavour such as this one, I think clear and unabiguous rules are of paramount importance.

Discussion Point Should variations of the word be permitted? For example, if the word is "Defenestrate" should points be allocated for the word "Defenestration" or "Defenestrated" or even "Defenestrates"? My personal view if that there should be some incentive to use the unadulterated form of the word that is listed. Whether this is by not allocating points for variants of the word of by allocating bonus points for the original word is a matter for discussion.

I should note that my ambition here is to have at least 12 pages of highly complex rules that will, at some future point, lead to interminable discussion about whether a particular usage had violated rule 17(b)9 or was allowable under subclause G(f). --Thepm (talk) 06:54, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

I personally think it's fine to use past tense, progressive, subjunctive, and other forms of the word in question. Establishing a plethora of convoluted and contradictory rules, also, seems fine to me since this contest is supposed to be loose and fun. Thank you for your kind words. Unfortunately I am unable to respond in kind as I am slightly mournful as a result of hearing of the passing of Lionel Rose and slightly drunk as a result of being in Japan. I am enthusiastic to develop a large range of contradictory and slightly bizarre rules that will eventually either be ignored by participants or invoked to justify contradicting the initial intentions of the game. To this end, I propose that the presence of a lightly grilled stoat on a bun with french fries should play a part in the development of said rules.

Damn fine use of Onomatopoeia. Even managed to include some katakana, which may well entitle you to a bonus point although I appear to have misplaced volume 4 of The Rules. Very impressed nonetheless.
