Chi/Crotch[edit]

She couldn't have put his hand inside her, she still had her clothes on, after all. She just took his hand and put it on her private area. Also, it wasn't Chi that was doing all of that, it was Freya, who had taken over Chi's body. :) PiccoloNamek 16:50, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: We don't know whether or not Chi still had her panties on, and even if she did, they could always have been pushed aside. It is speculation one way or the other I guess since we couldn't see it, but the way she cuped his hand and his reaction said something to me (but the way it page is now I think is best since it doesn't push this debate one way or the other, leaving it up to the viewers to decide what happened). Also, It wasn't Freya who had taken over, simply the defense program. In the last episode when she did, the signal changed on the computer map (which both Zima and Chitose Hibiya where watching throughout the ordeal). It came as a surprise to Ms Hibiya that Freya was still around in the final episode, so if she had taken over sooner, both Ms Hibiya and Zima would have seen it.

I suppose that is just one of the differences between the anime and the manga. In the manga, it is pretty obvious that it is Freya.PiccoloNamek 17:30, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: No problem. I just got into this series and I have been over analysing some scenes because I am simply obsessed with character development in a show which is well done (I don't find it plastic like half the anime shows out there). I find myself trying to get into the head of the writer and sometimes the character to figure out what is going on to better understand the situation. With Chobits, the story is solid and the characters, while the most dynamic group, are definately not static. Chi especially is the most dynamic and perhaps the most interesting character, and during these times of "defence" it is almost like another personality asserts itself, but whether that is what remains of her old self (which should be deleted) a program used to protect herself (which is most likely) or Freya (which could have installed the program and initiated it during times of crisis) is up to much speculation by the views or readers in your case. By the way, what did you think of the changes? I know you have pretty much taken care of this yourself, so I don't like the idea of intruding, but I think I have alot to add to this page.

Your changes seem to be meaningful and well thought out. Just be careful about using too many subjective descriptors when talking about the characters. This is an encyclopedia, not a place for our opinions. I had to learn this the hard way when working within the Final Fantasy Wikiproject. If you haven't read the Chobits manga yet, you need to now. It is much better than the anime as far as going into the juicy details concerning the story and the writers' philosophy.PiccoloNamek 17:46, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: No worries, I have years of experience with formal essay writing, so using subjective descriptors is not that big a problem. I try my best to maintain credibility and usually research a topic before giving an opinion on it. Well I am not a manga fan as I prefer watching TV then reading books, but I will see about looking into it. Most of the time, the story varies between the two sources, and from what I have read I will stick to the anime (to be honest, I prefer the fact that Chi can be physical in the anime, especially since I believe personally that sex is a part of love, thus the term making love). In that regard, most "cannon" doesn't come from one source or the other, but what the viewer/reader decides to believe. I just don't like it when something is dismissed simply because it wasn't in the right source (being a fan of Naruto is frustrating when people tear apart the show because it doesn't conform to their reality of how it should be). If you need help or advice or what not, email me at clancop@hotmail.com. I love talking about this stuff you know, giving into my inner geek from time to time is enjoyable. :P

In a series such as Chobits, the manga is generally considered "more canon" because it came first, and the anime is based off of it. The storyline is basically the same between them, except for some very important differences which I have already gone over. Whenever we are writing about something in the series, if there is a difference between the manga and the anime, it should always be mentioned and described.

Do you have aim, I would like to speak with you about all of this stuff in real time. That would be awesome. What I find to be very interesting is speculating on the nature of the technology involved, which, sadly, isn't described in any detail in either the manga or the anine.PiccoloNamek 18:19, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Reply: No I don't, but I have MSN. The address above is the same one I use.

Oh. I'm online. We should talk. It's easier to discuss proposed edits and such when you can talk in real time. If you come online, I will message you. Also, sorry I reverted your edit. The old one just sounded better to me.PiccoloNamek 19:27, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
