Cavaliers record

[edit]

Hi, I’ve noticed that your only three edits to the Cleveland Cavaliers article decreased their playoffs losing record by 1.[1 2 3] Other users, including myself, have recounted the values in the table to determine that you were wrong. [1 2 3] Why do you keep doing this? —LOL 21:47, 11 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I found the mistake - In the 1992 Playoffs, the CAVS won the playoff series vs. New Jersey 3-1, not 3-2.

Next time do some research instead of just adding up the numbers in the boxes. I fixed it, so my total numbers are correct like they were the whole time.

Why don't you check the Cavs media guide and stop putting the wrong information up?

They were 35-55 entering the 2007 playoffs. Their playoff record is 12-7, making their overall playoff record 47-62. Stop adding a loss that should not be there.' —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cleveland1 (talkcontribs).

Thank you for spotting and correcting that particular error. You changed the 4–2 record to 4–1, which is also incorrect, but I cleaned that up. Next time you change a sum, make sure the numbers add up; there is an obvious error when you say something like 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 9. If you spot an error, it’d be helpful if you point it out in your edit summary or the talk page. Otherwise, other editors could only guess why you changed the numbers. If you had said anything about an error in the table on May 30, the error would likely have been corrected prior to June. I was not aware that the media guide contained such information, so again thank you for telling me about it. —LOL 17:47, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Are you a basketball fan? Do you know anything about the NBA playoffs?

I will once again correct YOUR mistake. It was a 5 game series in 1992. The Cavs won 3-2. Then they went and beat Boston 4-3. STOP CHANGING MY CORRECTIONS. YOU ARE AN IDIOT.

I changed the 3-2 record to 3-1 which is correct. I also corrected your adding job above. Your were wrong again up there. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Cleveland1 (talkcontribs).

Strange, I looked at both of our edits and they are nearly opposite of what I remembered. Anyway, I hope this is settled, and keep in mind that WP:CIVIL is a policy. Sorry for the confusion, and this is the first time anything like this has happened. Oh, and please don’t change other people’s comments. —LOL 18:07, 13 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
