Your submission at Articles for creation

[edit]

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Cliff Dumas. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

Conflict of interest

[edit]

Given your prior attempts to create an article about Cliff Dumas, and your recent edits at KINY, a radio station owned by Cliff Dumas, I'm going to go ahead and assume that you are, in fact, the Cliff Dumas who owns KINY. That being the case, you have an obvious conflict of interest regarding this topic, and should refrain from further edits to the page. If there are factual errors that need to be addressed, please make edit requests at Talk:KINY.

Information on the page has been changed, it would appear, by a former employee. Our legal department has been alerted to this and other various post that disparage the company to take appropriate action. The information and links to an article that is fundamental flawed is also under legal scrutiny. The information provided is an accurate representation of the company. Who are you and how do we correct this? Cliffdumas (talk) 19:48, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm just another editor here at Wikipedia who noticed your edits on the page and thought to point out the relevant Wikipedia policies. As to how you "correct this", as I mentioned before, you'll have to go to the article's talk page and address any errors you think the page contains. For any changes you'd like to see, you should provide reliable sources to indicate why your version is preferred over the version currently published. Understood and thank you for the clarification. Cliffdumas (talk) 21:23, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for sockpuppetry

[edit]
Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for abusing multiple accounts per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Cliffdumas. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  — Newslinger talk 02:48, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

this is our company page and this information is categorically incorrect. One of your edited indicated we could not edit or change as a member of the company? Which makes no sense. However this information needs to be changed pending a reputation company stepping in and ensuring these changes are made. How do you suggest to proceed.Cliffdumas (talk) 04:53, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Your unblock request does not address the allegation that you have abused multiple accounts. Anyway the answer to your question is that users with a conflict of interest can propose wp:edit requests on the article talk page. PhilKnight (talk) 08:41, 25 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

{{unblock|reason=Your reason here We were unaware of the term sockpuppetry in the application of having another person from the company correct the information. Information about the formats of various radio station is also incorrect.

Much of the information you've complained about could easily have been addressed through the process to which you were recommended, i.e. to make edit requests at the article's talk page. Further, much of the incorrect information has been corrected (purchase price, per cited source) or removed (use of AI, per lack of any source mentioning it). Should your editing privileges be restored, I'd recommend editing the article's talk page to provide reliable sources that document any changes in the station's formats.
