Welcome

[edit]

Hello Confidemus and welcome to Wikipedia! We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your contributions, such as the ones to Ryan McGowan, do not conform to our policies. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the wiki's syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles.

If you still have questions, there is a new contributors' help page, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia.

I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Jellyman (talk) 15:22, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ryan McGowan

[edit]

When reverting your edit to the Ryan McGowan article, I gave my reasons for doing so in the edit summary and on the article's talk page. I see you have now reverted this back without otherwise responding to my concerns. This is not a helpful approach to editing – if your contributions are challenged or removed, please do not simply add them back without further discussion. I have now raised the matter at Wikipedia:Biographies_of_living_persons/Noticeboard#Ryan_McGowan in order to seek other editors' views. Jellyman (talk) 22:47, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Your removal of my addition to this page (twice) was pedantic and compelely unwarranted. The article already referred to another family member (his brother) noting that he played for an Australian football team. It was therefore entirely consistent with family information contained on numerous other wikipedia pages to include information about his father's recent murder conviction, so to remove it because you decided that it was not directly about ryan mcgowan was ridiculous. If you are the guardian of truth and relevance on this site I will just let you carry on playing in your own sandpit and hope you will try and get out more. Pathetic.

Have just seen your comment about me having a possible "agenda". Nothing could be further from the truth. What a ridiculous comment to make. Read the article on a news site, which as you correctly stated was sourced in my edit, and added a summary here. Simple as that. Well played, gatekeeper of truth.
