Go Get a Roomie[edit]

Hi! I removed the webcomic Go Get a Roomie! from the list of webcomics as the article didn't exist in the mainspace at that point in time. Even if it's in AfC or in a userspace, we cannot list webcomics unless their articles exist on the mainspace and establish notability.

That said, I looked at the article in your userspace and unfortunately it doesn't pass notability standards at this time. The sources used are all WP:PRIMARY sources, meaning that they're all sources that come from the webcomic itself. (The KickStarter page counts as a primary source since it's run by the webcomic creator/group, but even if it wasn't it wouldn't be considered a reliable source that showed notability.) I did a search and I wasn't really able to find much out there at this point in time. This is pretty much par for the course as it takes a lot of work for a webcomic to gain notice in what Wikipedia would consider reliable sources. There is a Sequential Tart review ([1]), which is a good start, but I think it's just too soon for an article. Even the longer running and more established webcomics have an exceedingly hard time passing notability guidelines. Girls With Slingshots actually got deleted back in 2010 for a lack of notability, although I'm working on an article since it's received more coverage since then and would probably pass now. It's crazy, but even many of the more popular webcomics have a lot of trouble passing notability guidelines. Dominic Deegan is actually a better example for this. It's a long running and fairly popular (or at least well known) webcomic, but that popularity just didn't translate into enough coverage to pass notability guidelines. It survived two attempts at deletion before it was finally deleted last year.

As far as sources go, that's a pretty tough one for webcomics. Sequential Tart is usable, but a blog by a random person wouldn't be. An in-depth review by Fred Gallagher on his site would count towards notability, but a review by an artist without an article probably wouldn't be. Although even with that, sometimes the artist having an article doesn't necessarily mean it'd pass notability guidelines. Reviews by other webcomic artists tend to get fairly harshly scrutinized. Like I said, it's pretty difficult for webcomics to pass notability guidelines.

The other issue I saw with the article is that the Kickstarter section runs dangerously close to sounding promotional in nature. I don't think that this is your intent, but sentences like "Rewards for backing the Go Get A Roomie! Book One Kickstarter range from a downloadable pdf file of the completed book to signed sketches by Chloé" can be read a variety of different ways. It's actually better to eliminate sentences such as this entirely, as the prizes in KickStarter campaigns usually don't matter in the long run as far as documentation goes. That's the sort of thing that's neat, but isn't entirely encyclopedic. The rest of the section is well phrased, I'd just leave the prizes out. The general rule of thumb is that unless the prizes are commented upon by reliable sourcing, things of that nature aren't really that important to add.

Hopefully this helps you out some. I do recommend keeping up with it in your userspace since there is the hope that it'll gain more coverage.
