Discography edits
[edit]Hello. Regarding your recent edits to discographies—please do not use forum posts to source content on Wikipedia as you did at Niall Horan discography per WP:USERG. Content written by random Internet users is not a reliable source. Secondly, your edit to Hozier discography misattributed the US Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart to be a peak on the overall Billboard Hot 100, which is false. It has been reverted because a peak on a dance chart is less important than a country's national chart. Finally, do not cite unrelated sources/add unsourced information, as you did here. You added ref names to the French and Italian charts to source American and Australian certifications and I think you know that's wrong to do. See WP:V. Thank you. Ss112 05:17, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
- Also, regarding your edit to Benson Boone, while the sources had updated at the time you made this edit, please make sure going ahead that you do not remove the sources below the chart positions until the citations in the column headers have updated with the new chart data. - Sorry, I'm new to this business, hopefully I'll learn better as I go along. Thank you for informing me about the issues with my edits! Creatureofthedungeon (talk) 05:24, 11 May 2024 (UTC)
- However, I am not sure what you mean regarding the article Joe Jonas discography. Both the RIAA certifications I added are confirmed in the official RIAA database, which I added as a citation. I don't know why they have been reverted. Also, I'm not sure which article you're talking about when you say that I "added ref names to the French and Italian charts to source American and Australian certifications". Which article was that? I don't remember changing reference names in such a manner. I'm not denying that I made such an error, and am sorry if I did, but at least do state in which article I did so. Thank you! - I didn't deny that the certifications for Jonas's songs are in the RIAA database. However, you did not cite the RIAA database. In this edit, you added ref names (the ":0" and ":1") to the French and Italian chart citations, which you then used as the citations for the RIAA certifications later on in the article. You also added a ref name (the ":2") to a Billboard article about Jonas's US sales as the citation for the ARIA certification. That's what I was referring to. Ss112 01:12, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
- Actually I use the visual editor, so it was probably a glitch. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience I caused. Creatureofthedungeon (talk) 07:24, 12 May 2024 (UTC)
