Information icon Hello, I'm 76.248.151.159. I noticed that you recently removed some content without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry: I restored the removed content. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks! 76.248.151.159 (talk) 21:10, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

June 2013[edit]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Rich Gordon may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:
  • In June 2012, the Speaker named Gordon Chairman of the powerful Committee on Rules.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.asmdc.org/members/a24/press/assemblyman-gordon-appointed-to-chair-assembly-

POV[edit]

Your reinsertion of trivia, campaign puff and the like in this BLP is improper. Please read and abide by the WP:BLP policy, Cheers. Collect (talk) 20:35, 23 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, talk. The community certainly appreciates your efforts to monitor for POV. At the same time, it is not POV to cite major, credible publications that say something positive about a living person. For example, if the New York Times states, "Gabrielle Giffords showed courage in recovering from her gunshot wound," then it is perfectly permissible to state in her encyclopedia entry that, "The New York Times hailed Gifford's courage in recovering from her injury." That statement, is, by itself, a fact. Let's not get too enthusiastic or it will lessen the ability of editors to ever repeat anything that a source said that was positive.

User:Quac needs to read Wikipedia's BLP policies, which state: "Criticism and praise should be included if they can be sourced to reliable secondary sources, so long as the material is presented responsibly, conservatively, and in a disinterested tone." Strip mining a page of all praise, especially that from mainstream editorial boards, is the sign of an agenda.

"Criticism and praise should be included if they can be sourced to reliable secondary sources, so long as the material is presented responsibly, conservatively, and in a disinterested tone." Please keep in mind that, if you look at the edit history for Mike Gatto, I am not the only one who made substantial edits. There are editors here willing to cooperate and discuss alternatives, but throwing around accusations and user warnings on my talk page is not productive. See WP:ATWV. -Quac (talk) 05:15, 24 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
