I'm curious why you threw in the remark about emission theory? Emission theory was completely out of the picture so far as all mainstream physicists around Fizeau's time were concerned. Fizeau does not mention it in at all in s:The Hypotheses Relating to the Luminous Aether. Emission theory only achieved a partial revival several decades later as a desperate attempt to explain the results of the Michelson-Morley experiment, and today it is supported only by crackpots.
Placing the remark at the very end of the article gives it special importance, but there is absolutely nothing in the article to explain where the remark came from. Moreover, any attempt to expand upon the remark would give it undue importance, unbalancing the article. In the history of science, nobody remembers the Fizeau experiment as being a crucial disproof of emission theory. Everybody remembers it as an important stepping-stone towards relativity.
When Dieter (User talk:D.H) and I began our major re-organization of the article on April 18, I don't think it entered into either of our heads that emission theory was worth mentioning. Obviously it was important to you, but perhaps you can understand why I'm just a little bothered by it?
IMHO, it would be best to place remarks of that sort in Emission theory#Refutations of emission theory where you can expand as much as you want on why the Fizeau experiment is inconsistent with emission theory. If you read Fox (1965), by the way, you'll see that it was possible for emission theorists to "explain away" the Fizeau experiment using rather forced arguments, so it doesn't even count as definitive. There is no one single "emission theory" by the way. They differ in how they treat reflection off mirrors, extinction effects, etc. and the Emission theory article is the proper place to go into detail about how each of these variants fails each test. The Fizeau experiment article really shouldn't be cluttered up with discussion of crackpot irrelevancies.
