Replika(AI Chatbot) August 2024

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Belbury. I noticed that you recently removed content from Replika without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Sourced content about things that happened in the past should not be removed for being "outdated". Belbury (talk) 08:05, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Belbury, thanks for the explanation. This article is full of information that is not true. I am only trying to correct it so that the article will contain true information.
Then it seems logical to me to move paragraph about "Italian Data Protection Authority banned Replika" to the criminal case or criticism section. What do you think? DaniHader (talk) 08:26, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
But it is true that the Italian authorities banned Replika from using user's data, citing the AI's potential risks to emotionally vulnerable people, and the exposure of unscreened minors to sexual conversation.
Given that it led to Replika making changes to their business model that year, I would say it belonged in the history section. Belbury (talk) 08:39, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did at Replika, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. If you only meant to make a test edit, please use your sandbox for that. The Finnish Broadcasting Company seems like a reliable source and the statements are clearly attributed to them rather than being presented as fact. I'm not sure what the "incorrect information" you are concerned about. Belbury (talk) 16:11, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry if I did something wrong, I just try to remove information that does not correspond to reality. On the official website in the Press section it says what I wrote in the edit

In what way do you feel that the sentence

in February 2024, the Finnish Broadcasting Company released an interview where Kuyda stated that the company no longer has an office or employees in the United States, and reported that according to Replika's job advertisements, the company has an office in Moscow.

fails to "correspond to reality"? It is true to say that the broadcaster reported these things in that month.
Replika having made a (later?) statement that its team works remotely doesn't change that. Belbury (talk) 16:29, 14 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
