Notes[edit]

  • This series relies on Plants of the World (2017) and PoWO for family classifications, which aren't always in line with PPG I, so I have deleted the spore-bearing plants. - Dank (push to talk) 04:32, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • 1303 1287 rows. Aa–Am has 616 rows. - Dank (push to talk) 17:23, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Acoelorraphe is found at Acoelorrhaphe; Anthenantia is at Anthaenantia. Anisoptera, Annea, Appendicularia, Arawakia, Arthroceras, Asemeia and Anisocycla redirect to (or are) non-plant taxa. - Dank (push to talk) 04:46, 13 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Otherwise, I don't mention redirects on this talk page in three cases: when the list redirects you to the family name (which indicates that the genus is accepted at PoWO but doesn't appear to have a page on en.wikipedia, under any name), when the genus page on en.wikipedia is given the common name (Fir, for instance), and when the genus has only one species and the page is given the species name. In some of these cases (such as Aethusa cynapium), if you type the genus name (Aethusa) in the search bar, you won't be redirected to the species name (because it's the name of something else on Wikipedia), so clicking on the Aethusa row will redirect you to Aethusa cynapium. - Dank (push to talk) 04:37, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Acoraceae redirects to its only genus, Acorus, and Cactaceae redirects to Cactus. I prefer to consistently use the -ceae name for families in this list for consistency (and to avoid breaking my home-grown regex coding), including within links, even when they are redirected. - Dank (push to talk) 00:15, 27 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Ammophila and Argania are listed as accepted in Plants of the World but not in PoWO. Aptenia is mentioned in PotW as a genus that was recently lumped into another Aizoaceae genus. - Dank (push to talk) 03:06, 30 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
