A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Database Marketing Group (DBM Group)/sandbox/Database Marketing Group (DBM Group), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be blatant advertising which only promotes or publicises a company, product, group or service, and which is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages; user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you can indicate why the page is not blatant advertising, contest the deletion by clicking on the button that looks like this: Click here to contest this speedy deletion which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy deletion candidate). Doing so will take you to your user talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also edit this page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would help make it encyclopedic. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. agtx 16:38, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from User:Database Marketing Group (DBM Group)/sandbox/Database Marketing Group (DBM Group), a page you have created yourself. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you.  Velella  Velella Talk   16:58, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest[edit]

Wikipedia is not a business directory - only companies that meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for organizations and companies are considered worthy of inclusion. Evidence of notability comes from significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the company.

Writing about your own company is a conflict of interest. It is reasonable to assume that someone employed by or affiliated with the company will find it difficult to write about it in an objective manner that is not promotional. In addition, if you are an employee or other position of being paid by this company, you are required to disclose this fact per Wikipedia's terms of use. Please consult Wikipedia's plain and simple conflict of interest guide and FAQ for organizations to learn more about why this type of editing is discouraged.

Finally, your username is also the business name, which violates Wikipedia's username policy. Accounts can only be for individuals; they can never represent a business or organization, and never be shared amongst more than one person. The only exception would be something like "Sally at Database Marketing Group", which is allowable because it identifies a single individual. You would have to request a change of username for this to happen, otherwise this account will be blocked from editing. --Drm310 (talk) 20:07, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

July 2015[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.
