January 2020[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Dorsetonian. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Jean jacket have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Dorsetonian (talk) 23:40, 23 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dorsetonian, I disagree, I will add broader colour and movement to the addition and re-update — Preceding unsigned comment added by 120.21.2.14 (talk) 00:33, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Trucker Jacket, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. creffett (talk) 00:31, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, David James Connolly Australia. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. creffett (talk) 00:40, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Creffit, I disagree with your position. I find it extraordinary that my page was deleted whilst I was in the process of soliciting other people to contribute to it, I find it also extraordinary that some person re-directed the page to an incorrect garment in its stead. I will go through the process to retrieve my page from deleted items and re-circulate for participation. Your position on COI is poorly researched. Request reason:

I have reviewed the feedback from aforementioned parties regarding their concerns. Subsequent to consideration, their concerns are not to be considered in any regard whatsoever. In 2018 I made a decision to be the best in the world for a single product in an unregulated market. The opening phase of that activity included compiling the true history of the product, in my view Wikipedia is the preferred independent medium for all parties to exchange views and come to a common position on this. The history of the product, as collected by me, is deeply contested. The bulk of parties who have written articles about it include paid back links to vendors and use a variety of means to position product for the benefit of a single party. As any process in a democracy will tell you, one party purports their view and another contests it - it is the contest that counts. The probably well intentioned people who saw my conduct as self fulfilling frankly lack objectivity and do not understand the fundamentals of leadership. Decline reason:

This reads like a bad parody of our examples of bad unblock requests. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 07:15, 7 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
