Hi,

I was wondering if you would vote for this film as the next James Bond Collaboration at Wikipedia:WikiProject James Bond/Collaboration of the fortnight.

The film is increasingly viewed as an epic, comic, satire of the whole James Bond genre.

Thanks

Thanks -good job ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 17:03, 31 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh definately one of the most stylish of the Bond films -flawless. That along with On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the only Bond films which had that more pronounced romantic element typical of a golden age classic of the 1940s. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" We see eye-to-eye. I adore OHMSS, though I wish I could burn a version muting the 2-3 smartass quips which were looped in post-production. Without those, Lazenby seems less silly, and more of a quiet, calculating Bond. That ... and that gorgeous cinematography. See ya on SPECTRE island..... You mentioned the 1940s ... hm, can you imagine FRWL with Ingrid Bergman as Tatiana, maybe Maria Ouspenskaya or Margaret Hamilton (!) as Krebb, but who could play Bond, and Grant? Hrm.... Very interesting, ... but we did not arrange you coming over for your amusement, #5. ;) ~Dbs

Vikrant's been bothering me about Bond when I haven't even looked at an article today or even thought about it. You may want to join in the discussion (I can't really be bothered to waste my time either) on his user page ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 15:24, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vikrant

[edit]

I'm pretty confused at my last message - isn't this meant for Vikrant? As I have stated on his page I've tried to be friendly towards him. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 13:44, 2 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And IMHO you have. I felt it was worthwhile to spread some of the "tough love" around, not just gang up on Vikrant (as someone might (mis)interpret "Vikrant's been bothering me ... you might want to join in the discussion" as being). I think others (me, included) have left MORE comments for him on his Talk page than you, so some for my part I should strive for some equity in my finger-wagging. Speaking of which, I read his rant and frothing on his talk page at you and I after reading your talk page, so mea culpa for not getting the whole picture before adding to your Talk page. Anyway, I think what I said for you, you're already doing, right? (Aside from that "hold the world ransom and try to kill James B-b-b-ond one more time" thing.) ;) David Spalding (  )
BTW, is it really true that the guy who played the quivering, shake-like-a-leaf Professer Dent in Dr. No stood in for Blofeld in FRWL? Heh. I caught a younger Dawson (1949?) in The Queen of Spades this weekend. A good actor.... David Spalding (  )

Hi David. While more citations are always better (although I hate too many references) if the entire paragraph is from the same source only then it need only be cited once at the end - unless there is a statement that is quite prominent and may need additional support. It also depends on the paragraph length. If short then only once. Regards ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 14:14, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PLus I managed to clean up License to Kill a bit by writing that great location list into prose! ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 14:17, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bond banter

[edit]

For me one of the most believable villains in the entire series was Franz Sanchez. He looked exactly like you'd imagine a Colombian/Panamanian drug lord to look like!!! I hated Charles Gray as Blofeld in Diamonds are Forever - for me he was one of the worst! I didn't like Tobey Stephens in Die Another Day either ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 14:21, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What on earth has happaned to From Russia with Love (film)? The article missing over half of it?? ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 14:33, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WTF? It was there ... I'm reviewing the last edits, but all I did was remove some comments and add cites from Production ... and the diff doesn't show Plot being blanked. REALLY WEIRD. I'm reverting to your last edit, and I'll re-do mine in Production. David Spalding (  )

Yes thats strange indeed. Oh it must be my settings - I thought I had them on standard. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you?" Contribs 16:26, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

NP I think mine are set to 300px, as I'm always working at 1400x1050 at home, though i have dual 1280x1024 screens here at work. Either place, I can size my Firefox to 1024, and smaller text, to see what the 'small fry' see. David Spalding (  )

2001: A Space Odyssey synopsis

[edit]

Greetings. Anonymous editor 172.190.32.51 has reverted back to a several months-old version of the 2001: A Space Odyssey (film) synopsis which is full of irrelevant detail, Original Research, and editorial interpretation. I have reverted his/her changes twice, and in response the editor has now violated the 3RR policy (and attacked me on my talk page as being "facist"). I myself don't wish to violate the policy, but his/her changes are so damaging to the overall quality of the article that I think a full-scale revert should be done. I have addressed the issue on the talk page. Since you made a contribution to the talk page some time ago regarding this issue, in which you seemed to agree that the more recent version of the plot section was a vast improvement over the older one, I would like to invite you to help us discuss/resolve the problem before it gets out of hand. If you have the time, please provide your two-cents to this subject. Thanks.-Hal Raglan 02:14, 11 August 2007 (UTC) [reply]
