Hook

Article

Comments/discussion: Thanks for posting the checklist, Ncsjfreed. I'm wondering about #3 from DYK rules: "The hook fact must have an inline citation right after it, since the fact is an extraordinary claim; citing the hook fact at the end of the paragraph is not acceptable."

In this case, is the inline citation right after the fact? Not sure if I'm reading this right. ??? Oishiisou (talk) 06:57, 29 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • I was just looking at this issue of citation of the hook that must be inline right after hook as mentioned by Ncsjfreed & Oishiisou ... could an alternate hook simply be - "Andrew Ainsworth"? His name is at the end of sentence #2 in the lead discussion and the citation directly follows. I also went to the edit page and tried to wikify his name in preview - his name redirects to Shepperton Design Studio (not sure that matters, but is interesting that he could be a wiki-linked to his business and wondering if this could be deemed as a type of reliable source, as discussed in rule/criteria #3 ). Also, Andrew Ainsworth the owner of Shepperton Design Studio is the stated maker of the helmets in the article on the studio/business and this may be a nice tie in. Not sure, but thought I would add my 2 cents. --4tiggy (talk) 02:07, 30 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Head Spinning

[edit]

I just might need that helmet to hold my head in place with this one! I have read and read and am googly eyed! I added a third Alternative because it was the copyright that jumped out at my and so I just wanted to try this DYK out (and thank you DZ - you provided and excellent venue). That being said... I am really struggling with the hook and its components so I posted it - I thought it might generate some feed back that will clear my head! Japson88 (talk) 03:20, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • OK - I think I have a handle on this an as such - I agree that the ALT 2 hook meets the criteria! I also deleted mine (which you can look at for a laugh) as it was SO far off!Japson88 (talk) 03:43, 1 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
