User talk:Democratsunited
May 2011
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen (Democratsunited) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Rob Todd
[edit]Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Rob Todd, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your content removal does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Please make use of the sandbox if you'd like to experiment with test edits. Wikipedia's policy on neutral point of view prohibits the removal of material solely because it may be embarrassing for the subject. If, as in this case, the material is factually accurate, relevant to the article, and properly sourced, it must be included to maintain a neutral and balanced article. // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 03:19, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
Houston Press
[edit]Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Houston Press. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Also, please remember that additions should cite reliable sources; blogs are almost always not considered reliable. // ⌘macwhiz (talk) 03:33, 27 May 2011 (UTC)
