User talk:Dev920/Absolutely and completely, totally and utterly devastating
The purpose of the extra bolded words is to emphasize the likelihood of one changing one's opinions, not as a comment to change the importance or validity of the vote. Personally, I find them useful, as I like to try and undertand strong opinions on both sides. By the way, your insertion of this ridiculouly long mockery of what you are against is a textbook case of disrupting Wikipedia to prove a point. I might suggest that you reconsider that action, as it's somewhat distracting and irritating. Snoutwood (talk) 06:03, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Simply adding a strong in front of your vote does not mean you have a stonger opinion than, say, me. I have voted on AfDs I have never felt so strongly about the income in my life, but I have never used an extra adjective, because, as you put it, it's somewhat distracting and irritating. Might I suggest you reconsider your actions? Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 06:26, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Erm, yes, in fact you have used quite a few adjectives in at least one vote. Four, in fact, in a jab at other people who use adjectives in votes (which seems strange). Specifically, the adjectives were absolutely, completely, totally, and utterly. Here's an example in case you're not sure what I'm referring to. I'm not at all sure which actions of mine you happen to be mentioning, but I guarantee you that it was obnoxious to see your monstrosity of a vote used for the hypocritical reason that you don't want to see monstrous votes. Hence the WP:POINT mention. Snoutwood (talk) 06:46, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Mate, you have no sense of humour or irony. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 07:21, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- Heh, no, but I did edit war over Wikipedia:No climbing the Reichstag dressed as Spiderman. :) Snoutwood (talk) 08:18, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- That is such a weird page. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 08:28, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
- It is the best, most important page on the wiki, no doubt. (I love that picture's caption: "...both common mistakes of new editors." I still chuckle about that.) Snoutwood (talk) 16:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

I personally don't agree with your point: AfDs are not a vote, if I am correct. The idea is to have some kind of consensus in the end. There is no 1 line = 1 vote rule and I see it more as a discussion. I think therefore that these comments are useful in a way, allowing to summarize this person opinion on the matter (but I love how your "Absolutely and completely, totally and utterly devastating" renders in the listing :D). And it makes reading the listing a bit less boring. Well, just my 2 cents :) (Ohm, btw I am no English speaker, but isn't it "devastating"? :)) -- lucasbfr talk 16:49, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
- Um, yes. Spelling is not my strong point. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 21:24, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

- Indeed you can move the page (you won't break the previous links that makes a redirection automatically). I don't want to touch your user space so I don't do it myself :) -- lucasbfr talk 14:48, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, I haven't done it already because I couldn't be bothered. You're absolutely welcome to move it if you want. Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 15:52, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- done then ;) -- lucasbfr talk 16:00, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
- I thank you. I'll spellcheck next time. :) Dev920 (Have a nice day!) 16:05, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh but Devvv, it's funnnn. Like, I'm keeping so hard, my eyes are bleeding. How can you want to take that away from the children? We only get to be bright eyed Wikipedians once, before the cynicism sets in and rots through our carpal tunnel. — coelacan talk — 21:03, 15 January 2007 (UTC)
