Speedy deletion nomination of Declan Ball

[edit]

Hello Dexball,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Declan Ball for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Electric Wombat (talk) 16:14, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

"Sorry, but..." Department

You say, " Im slowly emerging into a track star and I feel This page is necessary, please do not remove my page. I want to be known as a runner and I hope wikipedia support me with this!". Wikipedia is not for the up and coming (or slowly emerging...). It's for the arrived (and the past it). When you have arrived (see WP:NTRACK), someone (a fan) will have written it for you, and referenced it with reliable independent sources WP:RS. Wikipedia is not for writing about yourself, and it isn't here to help anyone with their career. We can (and I certainly do) wish you good luck, but the hard work is up to you. But I would advise you not to neglect the day job. At the moment, that's school, but remember that success as an athlete is fleeting - and it can go away with just one accident. Have something else to fall back on, or all your hard work might lead only to unemployment. I say similar things to young musicians and writers. (Not boxers - if they're stupid enough to do that, they're beyond advice...) Once more, good luck, and in four or five years we might have an article about your success. BTW I could have been a runner. I was the second fastest sprinter in my year at school with no training, but I made very sure that only my school mates knew. The teachers never found out. I did represent the school in the high jump once, though. Just didn't appeal to me. I can still sprint for trains. Peridon (talk) 16:59, 18 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Declan Ball (1500m)

[edit]

Declan Jacob Ball (DJB/;[9] born 2nd of January 2000) is a British/American middle distance runner. Regarded as an upcoming olympian his 1500M times show him having an exceptional chance at defeating national timings and possibly world records.[7] [11] Along his fellow runners he shows outstanding ability to set high leveled records in all his races he has competed in up until now. [4][8] He has set an extrimely high bar in the track events at his school in Abu Dhabi, his records will stick on the time boards for many years to come.[9][13]

Ball's achievements in running has developed him addittional confidence, as he stated in an interview after coming first place in the Yas Run against athletes several years older than him "It used to seem almost impossible to qualify for the olympics but as my fitness and running ability progressed I felt myself want it more and more and now I commit my life to wanting this opportunity!"[1]
