Thank you.

A tag has been placed on David a. davis requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  Blanchardb -MeMyEarsMyMouth- timed 05:13, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re your message: I deleted the article because you did not establish why he meets the notability guideline for athletes for inclusion on Wikipedia. You made no mention of him playing in any professional level event, only that he will play, which is different than he has played. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:34, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Re your message: Unfortunately, being watched by companies for sponsorship opportunities doesn't establish his notability. Nor does holding course records on some unknown courses. The amateur status wins may establish notability, but you need to provide citations on the wins and establish that the wins are from a notable event. If you need assistance is setting up an article for him or if you still have questions about his notability, I recommend stopping by the WikiProject Golf where fellow golf enthusiast editors can assist you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:44, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Re your message: I have restored the article into your user space at User:Docfire2/David Andrew Davis so that you can work on it. You still need to establish his notability before you move the article back into article space. However, before you do so, you need to address the notability issues that I mentioned before. I corrected the name during the restore. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:52, 20 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your deletion request

[edit]

I have deleted your sub-page as you requested. User talk pages like this are not normally deleted - see WP:DELTALK. With limited exceptions, none of which apply here, you may blank anything you like from your user talk page, but the history is retained for the record.

If you want more than that, and you are leaving Wikipedia permanently, see WP:Courtesy vanishing for what you can do. JohnCD (talk) 11:45, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
