Conflict of interest

[edit]

I noticed that you uploaded the File:Herbgreen2001.jpg as your own work on the Wikimedia Commons. If you are a former friend, colleague or family member of Herb Green, as would seem likely if you took this photo of him in 1975, you should take a read of our WP:COI guideline and taken it onboard with any editing relating to Herb Green. Please note, if you did not take this personally take this photo, it is not your own work. You need to correct the details of the uploaded photo including making sure there is sufficient evidence it has been released under a suitable licence. Hi. I have noticed your interest in this article. I actually feel some of you edits have been good. This for instance was a good edit (although you may want to avoid throwing around legal terms as that can be dealt with quite harshly). If you want some advice I would engage users at the talk page. Contrary to what it may seem we are not out to paint her in a bad light. We are governed by what reliable sources say and unfortunately the media has been quite harsh on her over the Mātauranga Māori letter. We are quite protective of BLPs and I for one take them quite seriously so if you bring sources to the talk page you my be able to help improve the article. I am afraid your current approach is not going to go down very well. Aircorn (talk) 22:52, 18 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Elizabeth Rata

Hi, sorry I did not intentionally engage in disruptive editing. I sincerely believed that 'criticism from other academics' was an unfair introduction to Rata's career, and believed that changing a few words in the introductory paragraph was a minor edit. The criticism (including from her VC) is in the body of the page and not part of the overview. One could equally say many academics have applauded her work. Google her name. She's had a LOT of criticism from other academics over long period of time for a lot of the things she's done. It's what's she's best known for. If you have secondary sources who "One could equally say many academics have applauded her work," I'd be more than happy to weave them into the bio. Stuartyeates (talk)

@Doctor Alice: Hi there. I notice that you have attempted to add balance to this subject's page. I would encourage you to continue to constructively edit the page. Please first read the recent contributions to the Talk page, especially the section 'a longstanding animosity.' Also note this guideline for Wikipedia editors: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Ownership_of_content Best regards Popinade (talk) 23:17, 21 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
