A tag has been placed on Dpa corporate communications, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi there Dpacorpcoms! I saw that you added a {{hangon}} tag to a page which you created, Dpa corporate communications. This is good, but in the process you removed the tag requesting deletion under CSD G11. Even though there is a hangon on the page, the deletion template should remain there. But don't worry, this doesn't mean that the page is going to get deleted. Make sure you edit the talk page of the page nominated for deletion, located at Talk:Dpa corporate communications, administrators will look at your reason why the page should remain before they decide what to do. Thanks - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:45, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Dpa corporate communications. Please use the {{hangon}} template on the page instead if you disagree with the deletion, and make your case on the page's talk page. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 09:50, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Block[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended or used for publicity and/or promotional purposes. Please read the following carefully.

Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, celebrity or other well-known individual, or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements, and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but it is considered inappropriate for such groups to use Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not. See WP:FAQ/Organization for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, or organization. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit again. Consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

What can I do now?

You are still welcome to write about something other than your company or organization. If you do intend to make useful contributions on some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, please see how to appeal a block.

One would have thought that someone in the communications business would have just a bit of an idea about what an encyclopedia is. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:03, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

While we don't want to be unwelcoming to new users, we also have to enforce standards of behavior and participation. Blocks aren't used to punish, but rather to prevent inappropriate behavior. You behavior is inappropriate by our standards because (1) you are contributing with an inappropriate username, and (2) you are apparently here to use Wikipedia for free publicity. If you want to be unblocked, you'll have to address those points. Mangojuicetalk 15:11, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to be rude. I am still finding my feet in the land of wikipedia and what is/is not allowed. Comments like the one you have given is not very helpful and would not encourage people to contribute - and this is a fair assessment from somebody in the communications business! Please unblock me and I will try again!?

  • Perhaps I felt that you might not be an appropriate contributor. Did you actually read the message above. This user name is corporate and is not allowed. We need to know your proposed new name and, most importantly, an indication of what you propose to write about. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:43, 22 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
