Request reason:

Hello! I would like to appeal a block on an IP address. I will first explain why I have vandalised a wikipedia article.

About 13 hours ago I read about some of the most iconic portraits of Napoleon, and shortly after I found out there is an actual Wikipedia article about Napoleon's penis. Amused by the discovery, I shared it with my friend who adores history as much as me, and he told me he knew about the article and that I should edit it by adding a phrase "Now possessed by Filolog" (Filolog is my online username). So, to show off I edited the article by deleting a few sentences and replacing them with "Now possessed by Filolog". Shortly after, the changes I made were reversed. A few hours ago I tried clicking the edit button to try getting into the edit history on my phone but a window popped out saying that I had been blocked from Wikipedia. On my phone it says that I have been blocked for 7 months, but on my computer the duration of the block is 2 years (I am writing on my computer right now).

I am a person who learns from their mistakes. I had never vandalised any wikipedia article before and didn't think such consequences are related to such a small change. I condemn my actions and I would kindly ask to have my IP address unblocked. Even though I am not a Wikipedia editor, I don't like living with the fact that I am blocked/banned somewhere.

Cheers!

Decline reason:

I give you credit for being honest about your inappropriate edits, and apologizing, but I must also block this account directly to prevent block evasion. As you don't indicate what edits you wish to make, or even that you wish to edit at all, there are no grounds to remove the block. Blocks only prevent editing; if you don't intend to edit, nothing needs to be done here. 331dot (talk) 16:04, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
