Faizabad

[edit]

Information icon Please stop changing the names of places in our articles, to different names to those used as our article titles, as you did at Faizabad . We use the Common names in English for our articles, not the "Official names", so changing the name breaks internal links to those articles, and is confusing to our readers - thank you - Arjayay (talk) 20:22, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Can i know what do you mean by "our articles" & "common names" & don't we native people have any right to be called with our desired name instead of your preferred name for our city. Dvsnkdas (talk) 20:26, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You were clearly asked not to change the names of places in our articles, above, and links to the policies and guidelines were included so you could understand why - Arjayay (talk) 20:31, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

As per the policy of wikipedia itself, you should be using the names which are frequently used by the media. The media is frequently using Prayagraj instead of old name Allahabad and Ayodhya instead of faizabad then why are you saying these are common names when in reality these names are being used lesser than the new ones. Can you reply to my query as a responsible editor of wikipedia. Dvsnkdas (talk) 20:42, 4 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
