Your edits to the Wikipedia article Ralph Ellison[edit]

Hi Egutierrez001. I just noticed your edits to this article. Some of the information you added is a good contribution; the article certainly needs some help. However, it seems that you copied and pasted the sentences from a reference. Wikipedia articles must be written in the editor's own words or attributed to the source either as a direct quote or as paraphrase. We can not just copy whole sentences from a reference.

I removed your edits. If you think I made a mistake, let me know; you can just leave a message on my talk page here. Or you can just try the edits again; but please use your own words.

I see you had trouble in setting up the in-line cite for your source; it is a difficult task for new editors. I still have trouble with this aspect of editing, so I'm not really able to give you much help on this. The welcome section above, that I used to start your talk page, points to some good articles that will help you get started as an editor. I offer my help, but keep in mind that I am a new editor also. - Neonorange (talk) 07:50, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
