A sudden increase
Can you say why we've got a peak here? --Mhhossein talk 15:41, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- That is strange. I could say it's just because it's the Chehlom period, but that would not explain why the peak started when it did or why it died down. Furthermore the traffic is consistent among both desktop and mobile users. Sorry I could not be more help, but please keep me updated. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 15:49, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you. You made a good point, however. Visits by mobile are far more than that of desktop. Could it due to social networks? I mean something could be published in that regard. --Mhhossein talk 19:39, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- This is what Google shows as coming up as the news of that time. Hopefully that can help. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:09, 17 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks, but how can it show the increase? --Mhhossein talk 06:57, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- I'm not sure, but I thought perhaps one of those articles could have been spread on social networks as you suggested. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 10:14, 18 November 2016 (UTC)
- Thanks anyway. I'll let you know if I got something new! --Mhhossein talk 12:45, 18 November 2016 (UTC)

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, Emir of Wikipedia. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Emir of Wikipedia", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is similar to the name of a film Emir (film). If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. Marvellous Spider-Man 12:21, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Ah, sorry Marvellous Spider-Man, I now know what this is about. Mea culpa, carry on. Mr rnddude (talk) 12:57, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Marvellous Spider-Man: The term Emir isn't trademarked though. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:43, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
Please explain your username policy warnings on User talk:Marvellous Spider-Man
Please stop adding warnings about a violation of the username policy to the above talk page. Using a fictional character's name, is NOT a violation of the Username policy. Why do you think it is? Please explain. Class455 (talk) 21:44, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- Because of WP:MISLEADNAME and WP:CORPNAME. On a somewhat related not would you say that my username
may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is similar to the name of a film Emir (film)
, or not as stated in the above section? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 21:54, 26 November 2016 (UTC)- Nobody can be mislead by that username, and it does not promote anyone/anything. On the other hand, Emir is an actual name, I used to know someone who had the surname "Emir", but maybe in that film, if the main character was called "Emir of(etc)", then that's why you got your warning. Class455 (talk) 22:23, 26 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Class455: The username promotes Spider-Man? I do know that Emir is an actual name, both as a given name and surname. In the film the character list does not suggest a main or even minor character was called "Emir" or "Emir of (etc)". Furthermore the warning was given my name being
similar to the name of a film Emir (film)
, not the name of a character in the film. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 22:30, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Edit-warring
I won't patronize you by templating your talk page, but please read {{3RR}}. Your editing at LGBT rights in the United Arab Emirates does not fall under any of the exceptions to WP:3RR, and you should discuss instead of continuing to edit war. Thank you. ~ Rob13Talk 07:05, 1 December 2016 (UTC)
