Hi.

"‎added my great great grandfathers name to the list of people awarded the Rai Sahib title, i have his badge to prove it"

That's not what Wikipedia considers proof, sorry. If you ever read this message and want a more detailed explanation, just ask here and I'll reply within a day or so. DS (talk) 01:09, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

that's fine wacky pedia's loss is the gain of the other sites, this place is no longer relevant as it was as a social tool of research Eshaan joshe (talk) 14:33, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm relieved that you're not upset. DS (talk) 22:31, 24 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
but my great great grandfather is pissed Eshaan joshe (talk) 15:03, 25 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Your great-great-grandfather needs to realize that anyone can claim to have a badge, anyone can have a fake badge, anyone can have a photo of a badge that they stole off the internet. I'm sure you're telling the truth, but "I have no reason to lie" is exactly what liars would say too. If you can't point to a published source, we can't mention him. DS (talk) 00:09, 26 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
duh hah i thought wikipedia is the published source, hypothetically should anyone were to fake a possession why on earth would they go public with that, on a global site like wikipedia no less
plus the only way to verify artifacts like these is if one opens up the akashic records(google it or wiki it) of a person long gone
i totally get your point though, even before putting it up i knew of the very slim chance that my edit would be accepted, i simple went with the naive logic that the mention refers to the person whose name is on the title badge i mean no one can deny that it belongs to a "nitya nand" albeit the ratification you need cannot be given as it was one of the first few badges ever give and we need a time machine to rendered a citation, alas it a relic lost to obscurity Eshaan joshe (talk) 09:27, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia can never be the first published source. "If someone were to fake a possession, why would they go public with that" - people have tried submitting hoaxes before, just to be jerks. If there's no published record anywhere, not in any books or newspaper archives anywhere in India, then... shrug. History is incomplete. DS (talk) 16:07, 27 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
