April 2017[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Fortuna Imperatrix Mundi. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Kris Wu seemed less than neutral to me, so it has been removed it for now. If you think this was a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Please refrain from repeatedly adding promotional material. This is not a fan site, and most of the information you have added is of no interest except to his fans and agency. Cheers, O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 10:57, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fortuna. I know this is not a fan site. Endorsements and philanthropic work are not things that only fans might be interested in. Endorsements are part of a celebrity's work and mention of modeling work is also relevant to a celebrity's profile. Don't you think being the first Asian ambassador of Burberry is noteworthy? That news is of interest to people other than his fans, especially those interested in the representation of Asians in the west or just people in general. Philanthropic work is also something non-fans are interested in when they want to read about a person. Charity work is included in a lot of celebrity profiles. Thanks for the feedback. I would ask you not to re-add information to the article without first discussing your intended changes on the talk-page of said article. You have added information, were reverted, so now it's time to discuss. Let me also link you to the following: WP:PROMO, WP:FANCRUFT, WP:PUFFERY, WP:PEACOCK, WP:NOTINDISCRIMINATE, all of which are applicable to your edits. Finally, have a look at WP:BLP. Please consider this a warning. Regards. Lectonar (talk) 11:38, 27 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Lectonar, I have read those pages but I maintain that Kris Wu's endorsements and philanthropic work are relevant to his page. Wording might need to be fixed but that info is not irrelevant. I have seen philanthropic work added to the pages of other celebrities, same as endorsement and modeling work. Cheers. Everypart (talk) 04:14, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please read WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS first. Cheers! — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 05:42, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The essay in question seems to cover articles themselves (keeping an article and deleting an article) and not so much about the things detailed in those articles.

Also, let me quote the essay. "This essay is not a standard reply that can be hurled against anyone you disagree with who have made a reference to how something is done somewhere else."

and

"Non-fiction literature, such as encyclopedias, is expected to be internally consistent. As such, arguing in favor of consistency among Wikipedia articles is not inherently wrong–it is to be preferred."

So yeah, discussing this is better than linking me to an essay that doesn't really solve the argument. Wikipedia is meant to be a place that comprehensively summarizes points about a topic and the person in question's philanthropic work is a huge part of their life. Modeling work and endorsement work are also part of their career. Cheers. Everypart (talk) 06:50, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

'Whether a given instance of something can serve as a precedent for some other instance must be decided by way of consensus'- was the operative portals. — O Fortuna semper crescis, aut decrescis 07:16, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

2 vs 1 is hardly a consensus when a discussion hasn't even happened yet. So yeah, let's discuss. Everypart (talk) 11:17, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on The Rap of China requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organized event (tour, function, meeting, party, etc.), but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Yintan  21:06, 2 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
