Hello EyeMD, I've restored the lists in question. Please see List of Binaca Geetmala annual chart toppers. Do you know what the reference was for the lists in the first place? I will ask User:Ghoshi who first posted it. Many thanks for alerting us to the fact that the lists had been deleted. Take care -- Samir धर्म 10:12, 29 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I will undelete Binaca Geetmala 1972 as well. It is sad that many administrators are either too busy (or too ignorant) to appropriately deal with content that is not pleasing to their eyes. It is much easier for them just to delete.
Unfortunately, I do not know of any software to convert English based Hindi text to Devanagari script. Also, you are more than welcome to join us at WP:CLINMED which deals with medical topics on Wikipedia. -- Samir धर्म 07:36, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please delete the incorrectly title page Binaca Geetmala annual list 197 which was created by mistake. I recreated the correct one titled Binaca Geetmala annual list 1970. The incorrect one is redundant.

It looks like it was fixed, already. If you have the problem in the future, you may wish to try the "move" button or try to recreate it elsewhere and tag the bad page with {{db-user}}. Ryūlóng 08:56, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

FTB

[edit]

Hi, thanks for your input. The translation doesn't necessarily have to be completely precise and literal, but rather express the sentiment of the slogan in the terms of the language. So for example in French, the plural for 'borders' is used, while in English the singular, 'border' is used. I understand that you don't want to participate, but I appreciate your input nevertheless. :) - FrancisTyers · 13:52, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You don't have to explain why Ophthalmology is important. Sorry for the imperfection. I take the steps needed. :) Thanks! NCurse work 16:43, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Anyway I put ophthalmology category into Categories' box. Could you please show me interesting facts? I'd like to improve Did you know... box with an ophthalmology related topic, fact. NCurse work 16:47, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, got it. Thanks,

Notability

[edit]

How can you assume that there is no verifiability even without verifying Can you tell what steps did you take to make sure that there is no notability. Did you call the publisher or book seller. YOu can tell that it is not your duty to call a publisher to verify notability. Then you should refrain from claiming that the book is non-notable

I am sure that you graduated some time ago. Though I have a vast respect for Salgunan and Bhatia (as I read their books during my days), you should know that the present buzz world among Entrance Circuit is Mudhit Khanna, Amit, Aashish, Sumer Sethi, Himanshu Tyagi. If you had cared to enquire from the present group of doctor/medical student/PG friends all over North India you might have known my name and the name of sites like www.rxpgonline.com www.aippg.com www.targetpg.com

I am posting this message not to get a vote from you, but to point out a simple fact that just because you did not know a fact, it does not mean that it does not exist. Also being in Delhi, you could have called Jaypee Brothers and asked. (If you say that it is not my duty, then it is not your duty to proclaim that I am not an author)

Also, I am planning to write a book about the concept of Career Guidance with reference to Salgunan, Ramagopal, Bhatia. They definitely deserve an articleDoctor Bruno 12:26, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What are the two books you have contributed

Doing MD Ophthal in AIIMS after MBBS from AIIMS

[edit]

There are 40 MBBS Seats and 120 Post Graduation Seats in AIIMS with 33 % Institute Quota which means that every one who does MBBS in AIIMS automatically gets a PG Seat. Hence AIIMS students are not known to prepare for PG. SO it is not a wonder that you do know about Specialist books like Sumer Sethi and Amit Aashish etc. Can I know your rank in AIIMS PG Entrance Exam that made you get MD Ophthal (I know the usual rank of students who do MD Ophthal) so that I can know a bit more about your extensive education which you cite as a criteria to pass judgements about meDoctor Bruno 19:13, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Doctorbruno, I feel that this is an inappropriate move to ask another user to reveal personal details about their academic transcript.Blnguyen | rant-line 02:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

EyeMD, I have responded to your comments at the Kaushik AfD which Doctorbruno initiated. As you can see, there is no danger of the article being deleted whatsoever, I myself have recommended a keep, but I feel that it is unnecessary to raise such alarm at this stage. The issue is relatively minor I feel, and it is best to assume good faith WP:AGF, rather than assume WP:POINT as the issue Doctorbruno's bio needs no further inflaming nor should it become personal. Thankyou, Blnguyen | rant-line 02:33, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

With regards to your questioning of Doctorbruno about copyvios in his books (I may be misunderstanding), but if it has nothing to do with Doctorbruno's activities ON wikipedia, then it is inappropriate to question his real life behaviour, as this would (if true) constitute harassment. If I am mistaken then I apologise and please tell me. Thanks, Blnguyen | rant-line 05:13, 11 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the delayed reply - I was busy in real life. Well, the question on copyvio was made to ascertain facts in relation to the ongoing AfD on his biography, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mariano Anto Bruno Mascarenhas, which was an ongoing activity at the time of asking my question. Anyway, his labelling my query as questionable behavior is akin to his ongoing rule lawyering as pointed out by multiple editors on the AfD and I don't want to inflame the issue any further, since I have no personal interest in this issue. That preserved page on AfD is a stark reminder of challenges of countering an editor with a subjective point of view along with major ego issues, using rule lawyering as an iron rod to try and browbeat fellow editors leaving their comments on AfD. EyeMD 01:37, 14 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As it has been pointed out, your questioning me about my book, when it has nothing to do with Wikipedia shows your true intentions. The very fact that you initially said that you know nothing about my book and have not heard about my books, but later questioned about the specificities (which can be done only if you have read the book) shows your true nature. As said by another independent editor, that is against the spirit of wikipedia. The question of that AFD debate was verifiability (that was proved clearly) and notability regarding which there were varied opinion. None of the issues had any relation to your nefarious questions. Any how, you still have not answered by simple questions, which makes me doubt as to your tall claims.Doctor Bruno 17:22, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I quote the learned people from the deletion review : Stop the commotion that you are raising here, You have a willful, almost troll-like, desire towards pedantry and Go Troll Elsewhere - as rightly said by the SysOps on the deletion review page. No need to waste your breath and wage a useless war of words. In case your brain did not get it, I translate it into plain language for you, which thereby means: Shut Up and get a life. Binaca Geetmala

[edit]

Hi,

The log is clear because the case has concluded. The article was rewritten to an encyclopedic standard by admin User:Samir (The Scope). The rewrite was even featured on Wikipedia's Main Page "Did You Know" the other day. The diff of the final review is available at the recently concluded section of DRV. Best wishes, Xoloz 15:26, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Myopia

[edit]

Hi, doctor! I was wondering if you wouldn't mind putting Myopia on your watchlist. I'm having a dispute with someone using sockpuppets who keeps substituting "behavioral myopia" into the article. -AED 20:14, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for being a bit loose with the edit summary, as I don't think you were purposely putting the information in with the attempt to do marketing for railways. I was a bit unimpressed by having a external link to a business, whilst mentioning their products, and there is also some personal opinion about some buses being uncomfortable and which trains are better. Finally, it's a general problem, but the Indian city articles do tend to read in a more marketing style, than say Sydney. Thanks, Blnguyen | BLabberiNg 06:06, 13 September 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Hi EyeMD, if you want to add travel information about certain places you can use WikiTravel which is a travel guide. Information you added to Jalandhar seems a bit out of place on Wikipedia. Thanks --Srikeit (Talk | Email) 08:18, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

RfA thanks

[edit]

Hey EyeMD. Thank you for supporting my recent RfA. It finished with an amazing final tally of 160/4/1. I really appreciate your support. Also, I noticed the other day that you removed some personal information from your user page. If you would like me to delete it from the history so no one can look back at it, give me a yell and I would be pleased to do it for you. Cheers, Sarah Ewart (Talk) 21:22, 21 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi EyeMD, thanks for your congratulations. :) Is your user page currently the way you would like it? If there is anything else you would like to remove from it, go ahead and do it now. Then I'll delete the page and then restore the very last edit so everything in the history will be gone. :) Sarah Ewart (Talk) 06:25, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I have to go offline for a bit so I went ahead and deleted it all except your last edit. If there's more you want to remove, let me know. Sarah Ewart (Talk) 06:41, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I've done it. For some reason it says in the history that the last 3 revisions were restored, but it has actually only restored the very last one only. The bot and the other revision have no content, so I don't know why they're showing up on the list. Hope the page is okay with you. Have a good weekend EyeMD. Many thanks for the good wishes!! I've got the results that I've passed, and am quite pleased! Hope all is well -- Samir धर्म 22:48, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the next step is deciding what to do... I've had a small internal medicine practice running concurrently with my specialty training for the past year and a half, but getting a GI practice going will take some time. Thanks for reverting the Geetmala lists (hard work!); I took them off my watchlist a while ago and didn't notice the changes. We'll watch for the IP in question. Take care -- Samir धर्म 23:07, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately

[edit]

We very rarely block IPs indefinitely simply because even if the IP is a static one, it can become someone else's IP eventually. And also, he hadn't been blocked yet and we usually don't start with indefinite. If he vandalizes again, let me know and I'll go to a week. Then it'd be a month. And then longer if need be. --Woohookitty(meow) 09:15, 30 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
