Speedy deletion nomination of Florida virtual campus[edit]

A tag has been placed on Florida virtual campus requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.flvc.org/flvc/portal/Home_Page/About FLVC/Overview. In the spot above where is says "new username", you're supposed to include the username you intend to choose. Here are a few key questions:

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory?
Do you understand conflict of interest?
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable?

Do you understand that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a business directory? Yes, I fully understand (and appreciate) that. FLVC is a non-profilt, state-sponsored academic organization. Despite its name, it is not a for-profit business or an alternative, online degree institution (such as University of Phoenix or others). FLVC is part of the Florida Department of Education and funded by the state's taxpayers. It wasn't my intention to present it as a business; simply to describe its significance within the Florida Department of Education and to clearly and factually describe its connection with the 38 public postsecondary institutions with which it is directly affiliated.
Do you understand conflict of interest? Yes. I have read the Wikipedia COI and fully understand its purpose and importance in maintaining Wikipedia's integrity. As presented, the article about the Florida Virtual Campus carefully limits itself to factual information as contained in Florida Statute, with only enough additional description to inform the reader (e.g., a Florida college or university student, or another academic institution) of its role in the state's public postsecondary academic community. It is free of puffery.
Do you understand that to be considered for an encyclopedia article, the subject must be notable? Yes. I feel its notability is directly tied to the other 38 public academic institutions (Florida colleges and universities) which maintain Wikipedia pages, and are prominently referenced and linked from the Florida Virtual Campus article. Additionally, as the Florida Virtual Campus is part of the Florida State University System and Florida College System, and is publicly referenced on the websites of all public colleges and universities in Florida, it would only be natural for a student, academic institution, author, or researcher to refer to Wikipedia for additional factual information.FloridaVirtualCampus (talk) 16:43, 26 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
