Blocked[edit]

I am blocking you as a sockpuppet. Since you have begun editing, your edits have focused almost entirely on a contested subject area where sockpuppetry has been ramptant. Your edits make it clear that you are not a new contributor of any sort. I do not believe your declaration that you were a former IP-only editor. I conferred with a checkuser, who informed me that the IP you are using is both stable and has not been used at all in the past. From this, I conclude that you are a sockpuppet of some sort, and am therefore blocking you. You may contest this block by adding {{unblock|You reason here}} below this message. Request reason:

You are blocking me as a sock puppet because I have had a stable IP address for the past week? I'm sorry, but isn't that just a tad ridiculous?

I haven't been editing for months. As I recall I was last editing some time in early January and only just returned. My ISP uses DHCP so I have no control over if or when my IP changes. I can't tell you what my IP was back in January or why it might have changed between then and now, assuming that it has. I honestly don't know.

Isn't the more relevant question whether I have been violating any policies since creating this account? I mostly do Wikignome work fixing various typos or reverting vandals or whatever. Have I been reading up on the current climate change/global warming debate and probation of late? Sure, that seems to be where the most interesting discussions are taking place right now. I haven't edited any articles, just offered my opinions based on what I have read. I don't believe that violates any policies so I would ask to be unblocked.

Decline reason:

While one would like to see a sockpuppeteer identified, the lengths to which this account goes to deflect suspicion are just, shall we say, a tad overdetermined, to the point of verging on parody. — Daniel Case (talk) 03:37, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
