[edit]Hi! I tried to block this user before you did but they were able to continue editing. Do you have any idea why my block of this user was ineffective? Thanks, JeremyA (talk) 03:55, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks... I knew that really if I thought about it (doh!). I haven't done much RC patrol in the last couple of weeks so I'm not yet used to seeing people edit their talk page after a block. JeremyA (talk)
hi
[edit]why do you delete my Request for help on User talk:Sjakkalle page
Hi FreplySprang, thanks for reverting the vandalism to my talkpage. Sjakkalle (Check!) 06:33, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
I have conscripted you
[edit]I have chosen you at random from my friends page to comment and offer ideas for User:Redwolf24/Bootcamp. Mmm drafting. Redwolf24 08:10, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Unblock
[edit]You unblocked User:220.245.180.130 earlier on. See my comment at User talk:Francs2000#Tip for the Future - I have absolutely no idea what I have done to upset this guy. -- Francs2000 | Talk 10:39, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
Freply, can you help?
[edit]I seem to have picked up a vandal that can copy my name, and he has been going from place to place vandalizing pages. Hes calling himself Hamster Sandwich. with a period at the end. BD2412 suggested finding the nearest admin and informing them of the problem. The vandal has gotten to BD's page, Mongo's, and my own...so far, as far as I know they're the only ones. If you can help, please do so...I hate the idea of someone running around using my user name. Its like someone you don't know wearing your shoes or something. You just don't know how smelly there feet are, and what they'll leave behind. I'll look here for a reply. Thanks! Hamster Sandwich 16:16, 24 August 2005 (UTC)
- I see that SlimVirgin blocked him. Can I offer you some shoe deodorant? :-) FreplySpang (talk) 18:25, August 24, 2005 (UTC)
The Wikipedia Hall of Shame -Article
[edit]Hi, the article im working on is a real article for the wikipedia! I have this brilliant idea that is going to be published if I will be allowed, it is not frivality, or vandalism, but a humourous article that will be of interest and added to I'm sure by many members of the community.
thanks and please be paitent with the work in progress article?
Cathy (Cathytreks 22:23, 24 August 2005 (UTC))
please dont delete the article?
[edit]I an not a troll (whatever that means)...that is uncalled for..anyway I am just working on a subject in an article for Wikipedia, and yeah, while it is only a stub at this point in a few hours I hope it will be read and enjoyed by most with a smile and a wink at for my efforts at the worst. So please wont you all give me a few hours time to show you ? I am a serious editor here at Wikipedia,
I thank you in advance? Shalom! (Cathytreks 22:39, 24 August 2005 (UTC))
Oh he will delete it. He'll delete it even if its a good article.
Well I think we should put our trust in the system here Kam-Ren, because if it turns out it (the article) is not encyclopedic (sic) enough to be on, then it shouldnt be here, okay? I'm going to continue to abide by the rules of Wikipedia and edit on whatever else I can help on here, and assume good faith in others, and as it seems likely now the page in question will come down, I won't be upset, but instead will work on it further, offline and may perhaps re-submit it after awhile.. and some time has gone come to pass... thanks everybody... Shalom (Cathytreks 16:02, 25 August 2005 (UTC))
Stop messing with wikkipedia.
[edit]I'm sick of this. Everytime I try to post or edit an article you delete it and act like its vadelism. It's not vandelism to fix a few typos and errors on someone elses article, and give input to the article myself, and its not vandelism to post articles giving information thats valueable. And instead of sitting at your computor all day eating and deleting stuff, why don't you put down the hoagy, and go out for some excerice. You could use it, fatty.
(followup)
so your gonna give me a last warning? SINCE WHEN WAS IT VANDELISM TO POST MESSAGES TO A USER!? THIS ISN'T VANDELISM THIS IS FEEDBACK!! TRY TAKING IT INTO CONSIDERATION!!
FreplySpang: I guess Kam must be talking about this. I just warned Kam, per WP:NPA, but Kam-Ren has made it difficult to assume good faith at this point, since he has despite his claims, the history shows he has made edits that are obvious vandalism: Given kam's most recent edit, I doubt the warning does much good. --Mysidia (talk) 00:08, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
62.253.96.40
[edit]I see you've blocked 62.253.96.40, I must admit I've been tempted too. It is an NTLI proxy though, so even the short block will affect a lot of users. Given that the vandal obviously has no trouble switching proxies, are you sure it's worth it? It's not like he's hard to find or revert after all. --fvw* 00:10, August 25, 2005 (UTC)
- Hm, I was wondering that myself, but figured that a short block would at least buy a couple of minutes of peace - oops, no, there he goes again. I guess I'll stop blocking NTL proxies, but it certainly is frustrating to sit here and let it happen. FreplySpang (talk) 00:13, August 25, 2005 (UTC)
Thank you

Sock puppets
[edit]- Paul, Jtkiefer really is not a sockpuppet. He's a well-established Wikipedia editor. I think you're beginning to overreact to this Imdaking business. FreplySpang (talk) 05:09, August 25, 2005 (UTC)
- That's a little hard to believe. Imdaking and Unike are, by self-admission, sock puppets. When I tagged those pages as such, IMMMEDIATELY Chriss P. and Jtkiefer started removing the tages, it only took a minute or two. Can you explain this? Paul Klenk 05:14, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
about the sock puppet
[edit]Im appologize that Paul Klenk put you as a sock puppet.
I contributed. I had a user name i didnt want so I rederected it to my current one. Now he wont stop with the sign.
Sorry
[edit]Sorry if I have given you such an idea. I just wanted to test the possibilities of Google Talk and see what it could handle.
Thank you.

Userfying Wikipedia:WikiDefcon
[edit]I'm trying to see if there is support for userfying this page as a way of resolving the dispute between Cool Cat and the rest of us. Let me know what you think, on the talk page. Thanks! JesseW 21:25, 25 August 2005 (UTC)
Milkman sockpuppets?
[edit]Hi. I noticed you just 24h-banned User:Milkman. He appears to have created another account User:MilkMan_Cuatro--inks 04:48, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
Don't you know, Imdaking is vandalising my talk page
[edit]FreplySpang, last night you got dragged into a dispute with me and Imdaking. My instincts were correct -- Imdaking is now vandalising my talk page. I had documented his attempts to log in and out as multiple users (sock puppeting), and posted this on my page. Now Imdaking has deleted it, for obvious reasons. Can you tell me how to notify someone quickly that I continue to be vandalised and harrassed? Thanks. Paul Klenk 06:10, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your assistance with the VfD; I truly appreciate it and I'll keep practicing. Regarding our mutual friend, I must say that I do not share your views. It is much harder to share such a feeling when one is on the receiving end of the behavior. I intend to keep a close eye on him. Paul Klenk 19:16, 26 August 2005 (UTC)
Block
[edit]From the block log:
- 00:49, 27 August 2005 Flcelloguy blocked "User:213.81.187.192" with an expiry time of 15 minutes (Vandalism)
- 00:48, 27 August 2005 FreplySpang blocked "User:213.81.187.192" with an expiry time of 24 hours (penis vandalism of templates)
I wholeheartedly agree with a block of 24 hours- don't know what I was thinking when I chose 15 minutes. (perhaps the result of being tired?) Anyways, should I unblock him on the 15 minute edit so that he isn't automatically unblocked after 15 minutes? What should be done to assure he is indeed blocked for 24 hours? Thanks. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 00:52, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
- So if I block for 24 hours, it will take precedence over the 15 min one? I'll go ahead and do it now. Flcelloguy | A note? | Desk 01:00, 27 August 2005 (UTC)
Thanks for the assist

IRC Advice Needed
[edit]Thanks on the Vagina, Crypto Derk's app would make it easier to help out with vandalism watch, but i'm clueless about IRC for the most part, I just download MIRC(I think), but it says it's only free for 30 days, can you help? Karmafist 00:10, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- Nope, I was waiting for your advice! ;-) It's just as well, this week has been a bear. It seems that all weeks have been bears lately. So, I should just find and download Chatzilla then? Is it fairly intuitive and free? Thanks again for the assistance, by the way. Karmafist 01:21, 31 August 2005 (UTC)
Blocking help
[edit]Hi there! I'm a pretty green admin at the moment, and would like some help with reviewing the case of this user: User:Agricu''''''I''''''ture http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Agricu%27%27%27%27%27%27I%27%27%27%27%27%27ture Do you think you could look into it for me please? I've preemptively blocked him/her for 15 minutes, but I suspect a permanent block would be in order. --HappyCamper 03:29, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for your help! I didn't mean to hold you up. I decided to be patient and wait out the 15 minutes. Unfortunately, right afterwards the user decided to continue to vandalise.
- Anyway, thanks for your help, and I'll see you around the Wiki! --HappyCamper 03:48, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
Esperanza
[edit]Hello, I'm trying to show some people off my friends list a new society, somewhat similar to WP:KC, Esperanza. Its still in its early stages but nonetheless I'd appreciate it were you to join. Redwolf24 (talk) 06:26, 28 August 2005 (UTC)
shit-storm
[edit]Is there anything that we can do to save the page? I think that the arguments for deletion are perfectly valid. However, it was my hope that the more time and energy we put into improving our page, it would influence people to create more pages for other comedy and improv groups, a category that I've found very undercovered here thus far. There is not a great deal of media coverage for the improv community, so there weren't a great deal of references we could list. The website given (the Improv Resource Center) is the best we have. It isn't a homepage for our theatre (as was suggested), but a widely-used, democratic open forum for discussion about comedy and improv in New York City. In any case, I appreciate the vote for deletion process as it's pushed me to learn more about specific wiki rules and regulations. Thanks, Billy
Re: thx
[edit]Thanks for the user talk page cleanup - although I have to say, "Can I really edit this?" is remarkably tame vandalism! :-) FreplySpang (talk) 19:39, August 28, 2005 (UTC)
- Yes, perhaps an overreaction on my part. This vandal has been destroying User pages at a rate of two per minute over the last hour or so. In most cases he replaces the whole page with his snarky remark. In your case, for some reason, he just added it harmlessly. In the heat of my RC Patrol I reverted it too... Vanilla drink thingy
[edit]Actually, I couldn't be happier that you fixed it. There's no DD franchise near me, so I'd never heard of the thing. The original author penned it as "Vanilla bean collada." The original entry was just useless and I'm trying my darndest to help this user. Sloooow process. :) Anyway, thanks again. - Lucky 6.9 22:52, 29 August 2005 (UTC)

Sorry to bug you, but...
[edit]My apologies for doing this on your Talk page. I'm a Wikipedia newbie, and am still a little mystified by the byzantine maze of instructions on how to report stuff like...well, the page I'm about to report. But you seem to be an Admin, so I figure I'd bring this to your attention and hope for the best.
Wikipedia:Pages for deletion/Log/Today has been vandalized. Dunno what was there before, as the history page only shows a single edit and no prior revisions. But the entire contents of the page as of this writing is "is gay."Extreme Unction 03:59, 30 August 2005 (UTC)
- Thanks for the speedy assistance. For future reference, would the page I reported qualify as "vandalism" and warrant reporting on the Vandalism page? Or is there some other forum or page where I would report it?Extreme Unction 04:14, 30 August 2005 (UTC)

Apologies for the bad posts. I accidentally received an edit link when clicking around a wiki article.
Erm. Several of my co-workers observed the activity as well. Could you also remove the entry for Jason_Keefer? Thanks. And thanks for the links as well.
I just wanted to let you know that I have blocked User:203.24.137.248 for 3 months for repeat vandalism since he did not heed your warning. Jtkiefer T | @ | C ----- 23:49, August 30, 2005 (UTC)
- yeah, it was likely that it would happen but I left a note pretty much saying don't come back if you can't behave so hopefully he'll get the point, that or he'll have to get the point via a one year block if this 3 month one doesn't make a difference.
