Welcome to Wikipedia, Frosty Simon! Thank you for your contributions. I am MJ94 and I have been editing Wikipedia for some time, so if you have any questions feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. You can also check out Wikipedia:Questions or type {{helpme}} at the bottom of this page. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that will automatically produce your username and the date. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! MJ94 (talk) 23:15, 1 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I have just set up a Wiki account to edit a few articles. I haven't managed to edit anything as on my first visit i saw i was blocked. This may be because my flatmate anna freeman set up an account at the same time, on my computer, so with the same IP. She doesn't really want to keep her account, but i do - can you help?

Decline reason:

There is compelling evidence that you are the blocked user RainbowBacon69, so this account will now be blocked too. JamesBWatson (talk) 11:50, 7 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I can't see any blocks affecting your account. Can you try testing an edit in the sandbox, and if you still can't edit, post the exact message you get so we can try to resolve this. Also, do you know your flatmate's user name? There is an account called User:Anna Freeman, however this was created several years ago. Thanks.  An optimist on the run! 17:16, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Another question - do you have any connection with user RainbowBacon69 (talk · contribs)?  An optimist on the run! 23:57, 4 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As stated above, please let us know what messages you get when you try to edit, otherwise we cannot trace the block.  An optimist on the run! 15:40, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This is the message i get.

You are currently unable to edit Wikipedia. You are still able to view pages, but you are now not able to edit, move, or create them. Editing from 79.99.144.0/23 has been blocked (disabled) by AGK for the following reason(s): CheckUser evidence has determined that this IP address or network has been used (not necessarily by you) to disrupt Wikipedia. It has been blocked from editing to prevent further abuse. If you get this message, please read the following information. Wikipedia tries to be open, but we sometimes must block a range of IP addresses or an entire network, to prevent editing by abusers, vandals, or block evaders. These "range blocks" can affect users who have done nothing wrong. If you are a legitimate user, follow the instructions below to edit despite the block. Users who are the intended target of a range block may still appeal the block. IP users (without an account): If you do not currently have a account and wish to bypass this block, an account can be created to allow you to edit. Please use this form to request an account under your preferred username. In general, these blocks only prevent users who are not logged in from editing; once you are logged in, the block will no longer affect you in any way. It is important that you use an e-mail address issued to you by your ISP, school, or organisation, so we may verify that you are a legitimate user. If using the form, please refer to this block under "comments". If e-mailing, please refer to this block in your message. Registered users (with an account): If you already have an account in good standing, please follow these instructions. You may also request IP block exemption to bypass blocks unconnected with you that affect your editing. Post an unblock request to your user talk page. Administrators: CheckUsers are privy to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not amend or remove this block without consulting a CheckUser. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

logged-out abuse

This block has been set to expire: 14:35, 18 February 2013. Even if blocked, you will usually still be able to edit your user talk page and email other editors and administrators.

Thanks. Any idea why i was blocked in the first place?

It's because of abuse coming from a range of IP addresses including yours ([1]). This doesn't necessarily imply that you've done anything wrong; you may be completely innocent but it'll mean additional scrutiny I'm afraid. I'll drop a note on the check-user who put this block on and see if he can comment, as he has extra tools for checking users that I don't have.  An optimist on the run! 17:40, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]
