Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Gabiangiuli, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Brianda and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Gender-critical feminism

[edit]

Thank you for your edits to Gender critical feminism. However, there is a restriction on editing this page, because it is extremely contentious. As is shown in an edit notice when you go to edit the article:

You are subject to additional rules when you edit this article.

If you do not follow these rules, you may be blocked from editing:

• You must be logged-in, have 500 edits and an account age of 30 days

This article is related to gender-related disputes or controversies or people associated with them, a contentious topic. Pages related to this contentious topic are subject to additional rules as authorized by the Arbitration Committee. Before editing, please familiarize yourself with the contentious topic policy.

As you have not made 500 edits, you should not be editing this article. Also, when you are editing Wikipedia in future, please note that every statement made on Wikipedia should have a source to support it. Your amendment to the article included: The concept of immersive fiction provides implications that transgender people, specifically transgender women, are living in an world of fiction, and essentially are living lives of inauthenticity. I have deleted this because I could not find this in the source – please correct me if I am wrong – and it looks to me as if this is your own view. Editing Wikipedia is not like writing an essay – we are not supposed to give our own views on the subject, but to report others’ views, as given in reliable sources.

Sorry to be so negative. I hope you enjoy editing other Wikipedia articles. Sweet6970 (talk) 16:11, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

NB: after I left this message, I queried the editing restriction with an admin, and the notice has now been amended so that it no longer forbids editors with less than 500 edits from editing the page. But I would still recommend that you find a less contentious article to edit. Sweet6970 (talk) 20:59, 26 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
