Vigenère cipher edit
[edit]I noticed you made an edit to Vigenère cipher. Would it be possible for you to add a source to your comment? It would add a lot of value to the article. You can see wp:ref for details on how to source material or ask me on my talk page, below.
Thanks!

- Thanks for reaching out to me on the edit on my talk page. I just checked the Vigenère cipher page history though and saw that another editor removed the change because of the lack of a citation.
- I think that you may be overestimating the average person's familiarity with cryptography. Your statement on my page that "...but it follows clearly from the fact that the traditional attacks assume the key is shorter than the ciphertext" isn't clear at all to a layman like myself (or, presumably the editor who reverted your change). If there is no source to cite, is there a way you can show through example or induction in the article that this is the case? If so, you should consider redoing the edit. If not, I'm afraid it will be removed again.
- Thanks! --KNHaw (talk) 05:34, 19 September 2018 (UTC)
