Welcome!

Hello, Glowplug1, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question and then place {{helpme}} before the question on your talk page. Again, welcome!  — Scientizzle 00:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Check out WP:DICK, a soft redirect to http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Don%27t_be_a_dick

Cross-namespace redirects are not allowed (except in very rare cases), so your redirect was inappropriate. Hope that helps! — Scientizzle 00:16, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

I cannot think of a more worthy and rare case than "Dont be a Cock" redirecting to "Dont be a Dick" ! --Glowplug1 00:26, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Don't be a dick isn't an article. Wikipedia:Don't be a dick is a Wikipedia-space link to a meta project essay. If you wanted to create Wikipedia:Don't be a cock, that would be technically appropriate. As a matter of course, redirects from article-space are not supposed to target to pages outside of article space (i.e., Super cool science dude would be an inappropriate, however apropos, redirect to User:Scientizzle; Articles for deletion does not redirect to Wikipedia:Articles for Deletion). I hope that clears things up a little... — Scientizzle 00:48, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

BT Vision / Homeplugs[edit]

Thanks - appreciate the message. I've replied to your messages over on the BT Vision Talk page - hopefully we'll get some views from other people as well and can find a good way to incorporate the points you want to make. Bonusballs (talk) 21:05, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

  • Ref: your message left on my talk page where you said "I find your editing un-professional and suspect and I intend to bring this matter to the attention of wiki" - please feel free. I stand behind the edits I made. The copy in the article was seriously below the standards expected on Wikipedia (for the reasons I outlined on the BT Vision talk page) and despite many good faith attempts to engage with you and the other people repeatedly adding the text, it was not improved. Wikipedia is simply not a place for original research, campaigns or axe-grinding, which is what the text came across as. There were numerous claims made without sources, and even the few sources that were quoted were self-published or insufficiently reliable. Without improvement, it had to go. You may disagree, that is the nature of things. I am just one contributor, no different to yourself - please feel free to seek out further opinions and improve the article by concensus, I absolutely do urge you to do so and hope that you are more successful in obtaining improvements to that section than I was. All the best, Bonusballs. Bonusballs (talk) 13:52, 26 March 2010 (UTC)
