Wrestlecrap forums

[edit]

The article Wrestlecrap forums has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This happened because the article seems to be about a subject but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. You might also want to read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles. -- Merope Talk 20:55, 16 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your article was not deleted for "no reason"; it was deleted because it made no assertion of notability. In other words, it was an article that didn't indicate why its subject was worthy of an encyclopedia entry. You can read this for more information about what constitutes a notable website. If you believe Wrestlecrap forums is notable, you are free to re-create the article. You'll want to include citations from reliable sources to back up your claims. -- Merope Talk 00:07, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You can read about what the Wikipedia community deems a reliable source here. I'd also ask you to remember that one of WP's core philosophies is to be civil in your interactions with other users. Please keep this in mind when leaving messages on my or other editors' talk pages. -- Merope Talk 00:56, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
If you like, I can either e-mail you the text of the article or restore it to your namespace. But, yes, deleting articles that do not meet Wikipedia's policies is not considered a breach of WP:CIVIL. -- Merope Talk 01:02, 17 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think you misunderstand the policies in question. No one is doubting that the forums exist--that doesn't require any citation or evidence. What is at stake is whether or not the forums are notable. This is an encyclopedia, not an indiscriminate collection of information. It's a common misconception, but Wikipedia is not the place to document every single website, band, person, or phenomenon. Wikipedia is concerned with subjects that are notable; that is, encyclopedic. You would need to use reliable sources to back up the claim that the entry is worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia. Generally speaking, most websites are not notable; even fewer forums are. But I've restored the article to your userspace here so you can access the text and continue to work on it. If you have any other questions, please contact me. Steven Richards

[edit]

Please do not re-add un notable trivia... esspecially as it is un verifiable. Him a having a move (which is still used today) performed on him isnt notable... unless it had some baring on his career. And even if this was sourced information it would be more suited to the Gregory Helms article than for here anyway; as it is his move which was banned. --- Paulley 17:13, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly how is it unnotable if it was the final time it was done on WWE television? The source is the fact that I saw it myself, and the move has not been performed in the WWE since, as anyone who has followed Helms' career could easily confirm, and several websites such as lordsofpain.net made mention of the event after the match was broadcast.

Ok then 2 things, 1. information like that needs to be dated and sourced (as The Hurricane used the move in WWE to defeat people like AJ Styles so you would need definate timming to prove it was its last use) and most importantly 2. how did it effect Steven Richards or his career? --- Paulley 17:31, 5 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
