Hi, thanks in advance for your time.

1) I need help with making my user page into a main page and (2) changing the title to "Lou Gordon" instead of the current title.

3) I need help in properly formatting the article, i.e how to get the photo, birthdate, etc., into the proper text box on the right side of the page

4) I believe I have all the correct source material, but I need help with how to link with other Wikipedia titles and words. I've tried to do it manually, but there's got to be an automatic way to do it.

Frankly, I'm struggling to follow, but some of it may be terminology.
  • A user page should never be made into a main page.
  • It is common to start a draft in a user SUBpage, then when ready, move that page into main SPACE also called article space (not the same as the main page) EDIT - I now see that is what you did and it has already been moved for you.
  • However, you have no user page nor user subpage.
  • Your contribution history shows only three edits, all to this pageSorry, misread, found the relevant page, will respond in more detail shortly
  • Please make sure you have read WP:COI--SPhilbrickT 21:27, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Assuming we are talking about Lou Gordon (presenter), it is in decent shape for a first time editor.
  • You have the image in the info box, along with birth date, so I'm not sure what question remains on this issue.
  • The title follows the usual convention, although I might have chosen "commentator" rather than "presenter". I think of the roles as different.
  • I don't believe we use the copyright symbol in footnotes, although I can't find the rule at the moment.
  • Check out WP:LEAD for a recommendation to improve the formatting.--SPhilbrickT 21:45, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
When you refer to "link with other Wikipedia titles and words", I assume you mean Wikilinks. You seem to have the hang of it (although convention is to wikilink only to the first instance of a term in an article of this length, so, for example, I removed the wikilinks to "Detroit" after the first. It is typically done manually. I think there have been some experiments with doing it with a bot, but they end up overlinking. There may be someone who has figured it out, but I haven't heard about it.
I've marked your question as answered - if you have further questions, please feel free to contact me directly at my talk page, or use the helpme template if I don't respond or if you don't like my answers.--SPhilbrickT 21:54, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lou Gordon

[edit]

I'm concerned that this article is a huge puff piece on Lou Gordon and a commercial so the creator can hawk Lou Gordon videos and paraphernalia. The article only superficially resembles an encyclopedia article. That isn't what Wikipedia is for. Brain Rodeo (talk) 02:53, 20 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
