Rapist (card game)
[edit]A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Rapist (card game), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}}
to the top of Rapist (card game). Accounting4Taste:talk 23:35, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Thanks for your note. Your point of view is addressed quite clearly in the article at Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day and I hope you'll read it. If you decide to remove the prod tag, I'll move on to the Articles for deletion process and the article will be permanently deleted. By the way, although Wikipedia is not censored, there are many people who don't regard references to rape as amusing in any way; I'm one of them. Accounting4Taste:talk 23:55, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
- is there any way that I could possibly change the article or do something else to stop it's deletion?
- Not that I'm aware of. You are allowed to delete the "prod" tag, at which point I would immediately enter the article into Articles for deletion and you'd get to hear what the community thinks of a card game called "Rapist" before it gets deleted under the policy I noted above. If you have any further questions about Wikipedia policy, you can lease a note on my talk page; please remember to use the bottom of the page, and sign your messages with four tildes (~). - Thanks for your note. The philosophy you suggest is actually covered by another Wikipedia policy at WP:WAX, which essentially says "we're not talking about other articles, we're talking about this one". It's my responsibility to ensure that articles in Wikipedia meet our standards, and I take that responsibility seriously. This is a non-profit organization that has to pay for the bandwidth to transmit its articles to the world and thus is entitled to be choosy about what it transmits. If you're looking for a place where you can post whatever you want, I recommend MySpace or your preferred social networking site; this is an encyclopedia. And if you're having trouble understanding why someone would find a card game named "Rapist" to be in very bad taste, ask someone who's been raped. Accounting4Taste:talk 00:22, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
AfD nomination of Rapist (card game)
[edit]I have nominated Rapist (card game), an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Rapist (card game). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Speedy deletion of James Thomas Giblin
[edit]A tag has been placed on James Thomas Giblin requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
