Covers

[edit]

I already ask you for help with so many other things, I really do not want to ask you for help with more. But, a project that I got most of the way through has stalled out, and lately I have seen that you are good at finding and adding covers, so I want to know if you would help me on this? Basically what I was doing was that I had been going through all the RPG articles in alphabetical order that did not already have covers, and another user (who I will not name now) would add the cover; whenever a new article was created, I had them do that before continuing on with the alphabet. In almost two years, doing one cover per day, we got up through the middle of the letter T (along with any new articles created) until... well, until much to my surprise and disappointment, that after interacting with this user for over a decade, they were indefinitely blocked a few weeks ago after being outed as a sockpuppet of a long-banned user.  :\ They added several hundred covers in that two year span, and it goes up to well over 1000 when you include all the covers that they added in the prior year or so before I approached them about doing it in a more organized and less haphazard manner.

Anyway, there is only a fraction of that project left to go, so I am wondering if you would be willing to pick up where I left off with that other user, when you have the time? We were somewhere between 80-90% done. Let me know! BOZ (talk) 12:18, 19 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, shouldn't be a problem. Guinness323 (talk) 00:12, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sweet, good deal. :) Well then, the best place to start is with recent creations, so to get us up to speed, that would be: The Adventurers' Guild Bestiary, Adventurers' Guild Bounty Hunters' Handbook, The Adventurers' Guild Tome, Howling Wilderness (Twilight: 2000), Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual, and Tomb of Annihilation. Do what you can with those, whenever you get a chance to work on them between more important stuff. :) BOZ (talk) 00:39, 20 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

BTW - kudos on having a copy of Starstone. I DMed Trouble at Embertrees years ago and loved it - and was toying with updating it to 5e...never got Starstone and was always intrigued....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 14:43, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's amazing what you used to be able to find in small used bookstores bins back in the 80s and 90s. Much more difficult to find older stuff now. Starstone shows its age, lots of amazing details about NPCs and their motivations, but the links between the three adventures are not good, need a lot of heavy tweaking from DM. Also, a lot of what we call "railroading" today -- adventurers are often led by the nose from place to place rather than making their own choices. Still, very good compared to what TSR was publishing at that time. Guinness323 (talk) 15:32, 9 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah. Some of the mini-scenarios in White Dwarf were really cool. I collected them. Someone left a 5th ed starter box in a community little library the other day, which I picked up :) Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:27, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking of White Dwarf Cas Liber, I've been keeping myself very busy lately. :) BOZ (talk) 00:49, 10 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

OK, so the next set of RPG books comes from articles that I started so far while working on White Dwarf, so see if you can find covers for them: The Book of Monsters, The Book of Demons, The Book of Sorcery, Pavis: Threshold to Danger, RuneQuest Companion, The Asylum & Other Tales, Cthulhu Companion, Dungeon Planner Set 1: Caverns of the Dead, Pursuit to Kadath, Q Manual: The Illustrated Guide to the World's Finest Armory, James Bond 007 Gamesmaster Pack, Dungeon Planner Set 2: Nightmare in Blackmarsh, Crossed Swords (Timemaster). BOZ (talk) 12:09, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Two more: Starfall (Star Wars: The Roleplaying Game), Shadow World Master Atlas. BOZ (talk) 20:49, 31 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
A few more: Saga Pack, The Cyclopedia Talislanta Volume II: The Seven Kingdoms, Lejentia Campaigns Book 1: Skully's Harbor. BOZ (talk) 22:30, 6 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, a D&D book: Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. BOZ (talk) 04:10, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

And likewise, Curse of Strahd. :) BOZ (talk) 12:17, 21 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another new D&D book: Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica. BOZ (talk) 20:04, 19 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another new D&D book: Mythic Odysseys of Theros. BOZ (talk) 22:15, 28 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I went ahead and published this draft to an article: Guildbook: Haunters. BOZ (talk) 18:23, 29 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Whenever you've got time for some more covers, let's catch up with some from my White Dwarf/White Wolf creations: Monster Coliseum, Legacy of Eagles (note correct spelling: Legacy of EAGLES. EAGLES = Extraordinary Association of Government Law Enforcers), Queen Victoria & The Holy Grail, Termination: 1456, DNA / DOA, Mercurial (Shadowrun), Street Samurai Catalog, Sprawl Sites. :) BOZ (talk) 15:24, 17 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Since this was going to have to come up sooner or later, maybe half of the current crop of Dragon reviews for RPG products from letter G are still needing a cover; I figured I would split it in two and you could take a look at these whenever you have the time? Since most of them are GUPRS books, rather than have the first set be half-GURPS and the other all-GURPS, I decided to alternate them alphabetically instead of splitting them in half. :) So first of all, that would be to start with: Galaxy Guide 8: Scouts, Galitia Citybook, Guildbook: Pardoners and Puppeteers, Guns! Guns! Guns!, GURPS Fantasy II: Adventures in the Mad Lands, GURPS Old West, GURPS The Prisoner. BOZ (talk) 04:17, 1 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

To reduce on duplication, I cut anything out of that last list that you had not already done other work on, and I would therefore add Galaxy Guide 12: Aliens - Enemies and Allies, Guildbook: Spooks and Oracles, GURPS Players' Book, GURPS Space Atlas 4, GURPS Update. BOZ (talk) 05:09, 7 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Aside from the other remaining GURPS books GURPS Camelot, GURPS Psionics, GURPS Space Adventures, and GURPS Vikings (are you overdosed on those yet?) I also missed 2300AD Ground Vehicle Guide. :) BOZ (talk) 23:34, 10 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Just to toss a few more on this before the holidays get going, there is also your very own GURPS Space Atlas, and from the above section we have Judgement Day (Judge Dredd: The Role-Playing Game) and Rockerboy, and I found out that Ents of Fangorn and Fianna Tribebook never got a cover. BOZ (talk) 21:59, 21 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of a detour today; someone found a couple of articles about D&D novels, so I started Brimstone Angels, Voyage of the Mourning Dawn, and The Verdant Passage. :) BOZ (talk) 18:52, 28 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Got one for Icewind Dale: Rime of the Frostmaiden? BOZ (talk) 22:29, 31 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Also, Starships & Spacecraft which had the wrong cover on it and was removed. BOZ (talk) 01:29, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Just added GURPS Steampunk today! BOZ (talk) 15:27, 5 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Brand new D&D book!: Candlekeep Mysteries BOZ (talk) 00:57, 6 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
In the interests of closing out the last remaining parts of the "Shifting focus" section, the last two RPG items I saw there were Slaughter Margin and Cavern Flooring. BOZ (talk) 22:33, 7 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I'll keep looking, but Cavern Flooring is a super-obscure product from an even more obscure company. Guinness323 (talk) 00:52, 8 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I started The Tomb of Horrors (novel) earlier this week. BOZ (talk) 11:03, 4 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I restored a few more novels articles this week, but they all have covers already except for Temple of the Dragonslayer. BOZ (talk) 12:17, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I realized a little too late that we already had that cover. :D BOZ (talk) 19:23, 15 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Roleplayer (role-playing game) might be a challenge, but you never know! BOZ (talk) 00:58, 21 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

d20 Menace Manual could use one, if you have one. :) BOZ (talk) 21:37, 14 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I also restored Cat: A Little Game of Little Heroes today, if you have a cover for that! BOZ (talk) 23:17, 19 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about Invisible Sun (role-playing game)? BOZ (talk) 18:27, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
That's tough, it is packaged in a featureless black cube. I added the game logo. Guinness323 (talk) 21:41, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nice! That keeps things interesting. :) BOZ (talk) 21:57, 29 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Got one for Martial Power 2? BOZ (talk) 14:30, 29 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How about a cover for The Complete Book of Elves? BOZ (talk) 16:22, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I started a few articles on Ennies award winners recently, including The Monsters Know What They're Doing. :) BOZ (talk) 21:49, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Two more that I started a little while ago: Mothership Player's Survival Guide and ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game. BOZ (talk) 17:40, 10 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thanks! :) I have three more and that's all I've got on the ENnies winners for now: Forbidden Lands, Down Darker Trails, and Eternal Lies. BOZ (talk) 05:57, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

While you were out, there were several. :)

There are likely others, but these are the ones I encountered recently. :) BOZ (talk) 17:52, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly a bit challenging, but do you see anything for Cavern Flooring, Daemon Spawn of the Myathlon Cult, or Deneb Sector? BOZ (talk) 20:38, 31 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Don't know if there was anything for those three above, but if you have a chance could you please take a look at Unnight, Fire & Brimstone (Deadlands) and Rigger 2? BOZ (talk) 13:29, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Dungeon Delve could use a cover if you've got one. :) BOZ (talk) 13:39, 26 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
How about, anything for Cyberpirates!, Kabbalah: Mythic Judaism, and Star Trek: The Next Generation Narrator's Toolkit? BOZ (talk) 03:47, 7 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Got anything for Pilots' Almanac, Castles of Hârn, The Staff of Fanon, and [[Realm of Chaos: Slaves to Darkness]]? BOZ (talk) 12:33, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Any spooky covers for Ravenloft novels Scholar of Decay and Heart of Midnight (novel)? BOZ (talk) 15:54, 7 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, and I hope things are going well with you. :) BOZ (talk) 12:02, 8 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about do you see anything for Birthright novel Greatheart (Birthright novel), or First Quest novels The Unicorn Hunt and Rogues to Riches? BOZ (talk) 06:17, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I went through dozens of reviews, mostly just created placeholder articles under redirects, but I did start two new ones for Forgotten Realms novels Elfshadow and Prophet of Moonshae, as well as art book Masters of Dragonlance Art, if you have anything for them. :) BOZ (talk) 08:34, 12 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Last two novels for now, or at least until I find another big cache. :D I started one more Ravenloft novel Mordenheim and for Dragonlance The Annotated Chronicles. BOZ (talk) 23:06, 13 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I recently started an article for the sourcebook Chrome Book (Cyberpunk 2020) and brought back the article for the novel The City of Towers in case you have anything for them. :) BOZ (talk) 06:29, 31 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
One more today: Shadowrun Companion. BOZ (talk) 20:00, 4 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Got anything for Vampires (Chill)? BOZ (talk) 16:46, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
