Hello, Guyana65, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please complete the student training, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Major Points It appears that the page on Alzheimer type II astrocytes has not been worked on in the sandbox; what is currently in the sandbox is identical to the original page so I am unable to give a proper review of what has been done. However, based off of what is available so far, the page on Alzheimer type II astrocytes needs more work. The article could benefit from a more in depth explanation of what Alzheimer type II astrocytes are, their significance, and their mechanisms of action. It might also be useful to explain how these astrocytes are pathological. Sections could also be made, such as for explaining how Alzheimer type II astrocytes are present in both hepatic encephalopathy and Wilson's disease. Because not much has been done, I am unable to see the direction of which the page is going.

Minor Points The citations are not formatted properly and need to be fixed. The reference section of the page is also missing. Yu.ste (talk) 04:01, 20 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure a review would be very helpful at this point in your drafting, given that there are only a few sentences. Please let me know when you have expanded the article and I will review it then.

Major Points

  • The introduction gives a good brief description of what Alzheimer type II astrocytes are.
  • If mentioning Alzheimer type II astrocytes are not associated with Alzheimer's disease, it might be helpful to explain why.
  • It would be helpful to have internal links to some of the major key terms such as astrocyte, vesicular nuclei, basophilic nucleoli, etc. especially when they are not explained within the page.
  • A separate section can be created to explain how the experiments with mice showed how exposure to manganese causes the development of Alzheimer's type II astrocytes. Citations are also missing for this information.
  • A table of contents box should be created for the page.

Minor Points

  • Some of the sentences should be read over again. For example, the sentence “The origin of Alzheimer type II astrocytes, although they have been shown to arise from astroglial cells in Wilson's disease.” does not seem to be a finished sentence.
  • The citations need to be formatted properly and the reference section is missing.

Major Points

  • I think this page could benefit from further expansion. One section that I think would be particularly useful would be one on how they differ from normal astrocytes. Your opening paragraph right now is very dense; each sentence could be potentially its own section. Some possible sections: Structure, Clinical Significance, Recent Studies
  • It would be helpful to internally link keywords to other Wikipedia pages. Some words that stand out to me are: astrocyte, chromatin, Alzheimer's disease, areas of the brain (cerebellum, cerebral cortex, thalamus), hepatic encephalopathy, and Wilson's disease.
  • References should be cited correctly in order to generate a references section (see Wiki markup cheatsheet)

Minor Points

  • Some sentences have strange phrasing or are incomplete. Ex: "The origin of Alzheimer type II astrocytes, although they have been shown to arise from astroglial cells in Wilson's disease."
  • Mice experiments are uncited
  • Picture caption could be more informative. What makes the type II astrocytes stand out?
