adopt

Is it possible to have more than one adopter? And can I make a new username without having my past edits redirected? I want to start fresh. -sadkfai

Name change

Yeah, by the time your wikibreak ends I should have changed. Although usually WP:CHU requests (which, by nature, are non contested) are usually quicker; I've waited three days now... Giggy UCP 21:49, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

Woo, done! My complaint at WP:BN worked ;) Giggy UCP 03:40, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Aah, I was wondering who h99867 was...you added my gt a while ago ;) Anyway, look forward to talking :D Giggy UCP 21:55, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
I believe I'm officially a Wikiholic now - Congratulations, you're now one of us. *evil laugh* Giggy UCP 02:41, 14 July 2007 (UTC)

Hi, somebody hacked into my old account called Darren Choy Mun Keet and I have since created an account called Choymunkeetdarren. I wish to clear off the userpage from my hacked account to avoid people misunderstanding me from the hacker.

On regards to the case of the hacked account, could you help me report it and get the account and its user page scrapped? Thanks. Darren

Adoption

checkY - Giggy UCP 23:39, 15 July 2007 (UTC)

Djfjwv is the name I havwe chosen for Wikipedia, because it is me. I am a DJ, FJ is my initials, and I am from West Virginia, hence the DJFJWV.

That is the only way I can explain it.

Adopt me!

I would love to accept your offer for adoption. I am fascinated by wikipedia and how it functions, and would like to learn much more about it. When do we I begin? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Dancanm (talkcontribs) 14:26, 16 July 2007.

I belatedly award you this barnstar for being an excellent adoptee, and excellent Wikipedian, but most of all for having the same name as me. You are truely lucky :P Use it well! Giggy UCP 03:54, 17 July 2007 (UTC)

Unusual Adoption Request

Hi! Im an English teacher in Toluca Mexico (west of Mexico City). My Advanced B classes will be contributing to Wikipedia as the focus of their English course for Fall 2007. I am looking for people who would like to mentor my students (who will be working in groups) as they do the following assignments: Edit and article (adding a citation), writing a stub with a citation, translating an English language article for Spanish Wikipedia and for the final project, writing a full article for English Wiki (they can expand on the stub mentioned previously). What I would like to do is put a list of "mentors/adopters" on my talk page as a kind of short cut for my students, who have limited time to get things done. The semester begings Aug 6, but the real Wikipedia work wont begin until the beginning of Sept. If you would like to add your name to my list, please go to my talk page and add it there, perhaps with a short introduction, if you like.

Thank you!

Mentoring

Hey, I don't mind at all. The more people, the better. Yes, I plan to create a separate involuntary-mentorship program for the disciplinary variant, and let ArbCom and MedCom know about that. Would you be willing to help out with this? There aren't too many people actually working on the program itself.

The Rhymesmith 00:53, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. What do you suggest the involuntary mentoring program be known as? Involuntary mentoring sounds rather... weird.

The Rhymesmith 01:02, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Perhaps it would be easier to develop that as part of my userpages, then load it once it's been cleared with ArbCom. I'll set up a basic one here. If you want to, you can move the stuff from Wikipedia:Mentorship regarding invol adoption there, and add more. I'll contact ArbCom now.

The Rhymesmith 01:07, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

I've just been dealing with ArbCom. Good night.

The Rhymesmith 01:39, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

I accept your offer to adopt me, I may seem experienced, but I am not that experienced and I have a lot to learn, I am now adopted by you :). The sunder king 16:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Thank you for your, "automated" help I think, every so often could you take a review of contributions and point out any mistakes I make, thanks. The sunder king 16:10, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Talking of writing articles, you may want to take the one I wrote a few days ago, Nick Bussey. The sunder king 16:27, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Even when I have completed your tasks, I still want to be my adopter, because you have more experience and you will always have more experience and things to teach me :). The sunder king 16:40, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

Adoption

ok, adopt me, please and how do i change my user name to something easier to remember? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sadkfkai (talkcontribs)

I wouldn't say NPOV, but I certainly think it could do with a copyedit. Shorten lead, move the timeline (WP:PROSELINE) in it to other places, etc. Giggy UCP 22:00, 29 July 2007 (UTC)

mail

You have got email. The sunder king 13:56, 30 July 2007 (UTC)

My RfA

Hi, Alex, and thanks for your participation in my RfA. I've withdrawn it, and will be writing up an "analysis" of it, which will soon be available at User:Giggy/RfA/Giggy when it's done. Please come around when you get the chance, and give me feedback on how I can improve. Thanks again, Giggy UCP 04:19, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

I got 0 supports and 10+ opposes in the last day before I withdrew. Even if the count was in the "safe" range, it couldn't have stayed there for another 4 days, so keeping it was pointless. Besides, it wouldn't feel right to get through after what had been said. Thanks for the user:Giggy/Header note by the way :) Giggy UCP 22:34, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
Looking forward to your return :) Giggy UCP 23:06, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Bugger it, I'm ok with emails. Besides, now my internet at home has decided to work properly again :) I'm on that at around 1900 my time, which is 0900 GMT. You do the maths! Giggy Talk | Review 22:06, 5 August 2007 (UTC)
