Hello, I'm Haminoon. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Eugénie Sokolnicka, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Haminoon (talk) 08:34, 29 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Drug Users

[edit]

This is an ill-defined and BLP sensitive category. What constitutes a drug user? I suggest you stop adding people to it.--Atlan (talk) 11:36, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, I just read your definition of "drug user" on the category page, and by that definition none of your additions qualify. For instance, Freud is known for being a neurologist, not for being a drug user. Again, stop adding people to this poorly thought out, poorly defined, and poorly named category.--Atlan (talk) 11:55, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I've nominated the category for deletion: Wikipedia:Categories for discussion/Log/2015 January 13. It's inappropriate. Skyerise (talk) 20:23, 13 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Unsurprisingly, the category got deleted. Please try to listen next time, rather than be dismissive and push your edits.--Atlan (talk) 00:21, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Not that I care about ad hominems, but it weakens your argument if you resort to them. "no life outside Wikipedia", it would be pretty pathetic indeed if that was the case, what with my limited activity here. Anyway, I meant no harm. No need for hostilities.--Atlan (talk) 01:28, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, if you wrap your core message in insults, it tends to get overlooked. ;-)
Anyway, there is an important distinction between "drug users" and "notable drug users". A category of notable drug users would hence be more acceptable. Categories need to be properly defined like that, especially on potentially sensitive subjects like drug use. "drug user" simply has much too wide a scope. This also was the general consensus in the discussion about the category.--Atlan (talk) 11:58, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I get the impression you hold me responsible for your category's deletion. Please note that I wasn't the one that nominated your category for deletion, nor was I planning to. Also, the reason it was deleted, is because there was a consensus to do so. You cannot "hold to task" the administrator that deleted the category for simply following consensus. Like I said, a category of notable drug users is much more viable. Perhaps you can create that one instead of the deleted one.

I am glad you enjoyed my talk page archives. I am interested to learn what you got out of it. Note that in the future you can answer me here, so our conversation doesn't get spread out over 2 different places. I'll be sure to check back here. Cheers, --Atlan (talk) 22:59, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm K6ka. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Friedrich Nietzsche, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 15:15, 12 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
