Speedy deletion nomination of Mensa BE
[edit]You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles. See the Article Wizard.
Thank you.
A tag has been placed on Mensa BE requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.
If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — 71.166.140.70 (talk) 23:49, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem that Mensa BE meets these criteria, an editor has started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.
Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mensa BE. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.
Discussions such as these usually last seven days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, a neutral third party will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. — The Bipolar Anon-IP Gnome (talk) 20:51, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Recent edits about Flynn effect
[edit]Hello, Hcrepin, I see you have just done some edits to the article Flynn effect here on English Wikipedia and that you have some experience as a Wikipedian on one of the other language versions of Wikipedia. I look forward to working with you on further articles for which you have up-to-date sources. I haven't looked at all of your recent edits in great detail, but I did see a link to Knol, and I wanted to let you know that by reliable source policy on English Wikipedia that such a self-published source is not considered a reliable source for article content. (I also started a Knol years ago on some related topics, but I never cite it for anything when I edit Wikipedia. Rather, the sources to cite are whatever independent sources a Knol editor relies on when editing a well edited Knol.) It will be good to have you working on articles of your interest, and I welcome your further participation here. If you have suggestions for further sources on the topics of human intelligence or IQ testing research, I would be very grateful for those. You are welcome to use the source lists I keep in user space to share with other Wikipedians to edit any article here that you think needs editing. See you on the articles. -- WeijiBaikeBianji (talk) 14:56, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
