Noctifer[edit]

I saw you started the Noctifer article, and your username matches up with the second guitarist listed. From a quick google search your band seems to be notable, but some people who haven't heard of you might still complain. If you have been reviewed in any metal magazines etc, it would be helpful to add links to these reviews.

Also, wikipedia has a guideline that says it is best to not write articles about yourself or your own projects, and another one about self-promotion. Please take this into consideration when editing. --Nnp 17:42, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I don't know if this is the right way to answer you.. I hope yes. Thank you for reviewing the article. I didn't put any reviews to only because I didn't want to make self promotion. But if you tell me that I need to do it, I will link them. Thank you

You would usually reply either here or on my talk page. Either works.
Reviews help establish that the band is something beyond a hobby project (there's nothing wrong with that). The article might be deleted (though probably not immediately) if it's left without them.
By the way, it's kind of a faux pas to edit an article about your own band. Though you may be a good source of information on your band, it can be hard to write with WP:NPOV in mind. People like Cory Doctorow have been mocked in the media for polishing their own articles. I suggest you provide links to reviews (italian or english is fine), then let the article develop on its own.
You might enjoy editing other Black Metal/band related articles though.. Cheers --Nnp 01:22, 5 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks! I will add the reviews soon. I want to be neutral. I could write this article with another nick and I used this only because I don't want to hidden nothing. The band is not an hobby project, I will follow your indications! Thanks

ps. I used to write for other articles, either in music or other arguments. But often I don't log in and these contributions were anonymous

Hi, welcome to Wikipedia. I have done some large slashing of your article at A Man, A Band, A Symbol because you were giving your opinions. We don't write about our own opinions, see our guiding principle at WP:NPOV. If you want to re-add the information in a more neutral manner, please do it. User:Zoe|(talk) 17:33, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. I added the review I used for that text in a link and I put only the song names and cd photo. Thanks for the suggestion. Herrwolf 17:55, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Burzum.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Burzum.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Proposed deletion of A Man, A Band, A Symbol[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article A Man, A Band, A Symbol, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? J Milburn (talk) 15:24, 9 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of A Man, A Band, A Symbol[edit]

I have nominated A Man, A Band, A Symbol, an article you created, for deletion. I do not feel that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/A Man, A Band, A Symbol. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Burzum.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Burzum.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:09, 15 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The article Noctifer has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long-established article but has never made any case to promote notability. Provides citations, no outside resources and provides no information or insight beyond what is readily available on official group website and press releases. Suggest reading of WP:GARAGE and WP:BAND for common problems in these articles.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Datheisen (talk) 03:05, 27 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
