Request reason:

The organization page for ISIS was blocked indefinitely for spamming, advertising or promotion. We are merely trying to provide information about our projects, rather than promote them. We are also trying to clear up confusion around our acronym as there are many organizations named ISIS out there online and clarify the misconception that we are somehow affiliated with pornography (we specialize in HIV/STD prevention). Many of our partner organizations have similar pages on Wikipedia in the same format as we were trying to use - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sexuality_Information_and_Education_Council_of_the_United_States http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Sexuality_Resource_Center http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Youth_Radio The page was blocked as we were authoring it, leaving no opportunity to add resources or references. With all that said, I fail to see how the above organizations pages were allowed but ours was blocked. The only thing I noticed was that we provided a lot more information on our projects so if thats a problem we can skim it down. Please let us know the exact reason we've been blocked and we will immediately make the correction for the block to be lifted.

Decline reason:

Wikipedia's username policy does not allow usernames that are also the name of an organization. I do not know whether those articles were created by members of those organizations or not; if you see articles that are clear violations of the rules, it's more helpful if you tag them for deletion, not create an additional inappropriate article. Under the conflict of interest guidelines, we all agree not to write about ourselves or our own businesses; do you have any interest in participating in Wikipedia now that you know you won't be writing about your company? — FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:46, 19 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
