FIFA World Cup not FA - again
[edit](oh, you archived it) I also thank you, and I am totally willing to do what I can to help with this article. Conscious 20:37, 6 March 2006 (UTC)
I wasn't vandalising
[edit]There is a link to Barker on the picture thumb caption, why do you need two? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.207.210.139 (talk • contribs) .
Times
[edit]- I tried looking at hangman again, and I finally understood it!!! One thing I don't understand about it-on my calender, it's the seventh, but people were dating their guesses for March eighth. And, what about actual time of day? Does Wikipedia run on a 24 or 12 hour clock? Of course, you only have to put in your signiture and it happens automatically, but I still want to understand it.Tigereye 53 01:04, 8 March 2006 (UTC)
New Sports Wiki/Community
[edit]I noticed you were a Nationals and Indians Fan. My friends and I started a sports wiki/community that you may be interested in. It uses Wikipedia's software but we made a lot of technological improvements to allow for more news, opinion articles, and better integration of sports statistics. The site is located here: <link removed, determined to be linkspam>. Check our baseball, Nationals, and Indians section its pretty cool:
<links removed, as they were determined to be linkspam.>
When you get the chance, let me know what you think.
Thanks!

Sports wiki links
[edit]Sure, if you're interested in having the link handy for your own use you can keep it. On talk pages where someone has replied to the post I've usually excised the link and left behind a link to the page history. Mostly, I want to remove as much of the linkspam as possible without annoying beneficial editors who are interested in making use of the link.
I don't know whether he's trying to manipulate his Alexa rank or Google PageRank or just directly drive traffic to his site; whatever his motives, he shouldn't be using Wikipedia's bandwidth and servers for it. TenOfAllTrades(talk) 04:17, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Sports Wiki Apology
[edit]I was formerly Awrigh01 until blocked. Wasn't trying to manipulate our Alexa ranks or Google PageRank. We just wanted to spread the word about some cool extensions we added to Mediawiki. If I (or one of my friends) offended, I deeply apologize. We thought that fellow Wikipedians would be interested. We are just trying to extend Wikipedia's amazing technology. --Awright38 05:03, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]Thanks for the message. Will keep you posted --Awright38 06:31, 14 March 2006 (UTC)
Thank you
[edit]Thanks for the correction on the Hangman stump count. I should make things a bit easier now. -- WB 06:01, 16 March 2006 (UTC)
world cup draw
[edit]I myself did that same Google search, and it appears that almost every reference to the ad comes from Wikipedia itself. Is there no place that actually has a version of this ad? Because it is extremely annoying for readers to read something like that and not be able to see it themselves... and if there is no working link / reliable reference then I am not sure such information should be included...

- Yes, he has violated something... :-) David P. A. Hunter 00:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC).
Hi. I can't remember what I wrote on this user's page, but either way he and I know each other personally and insult each other in a 'playful' manner on a regular basis. Both parties realise that whatever is said is said sarcastically and/or un-seriously. What did I write? Second, this was on HIS user talk page, not yours. If you have a problem with what is written on a user's talk page, then chances are the user will too, and at that time, THEY have the right to remove it. Please do not edit someone else's talk page without having authorisation first. Furthermore, if you DO edit another user's page to remove 'uncivil' comments, then at least only get rid of the uncivil part, not the entire message! Thank you. David P. A. Hunter 02:24, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- OK cool, sorry to be so.... snappy. happy wiki'ing. David P. A. Hunter 00:27, 11 April 2006 (UTC)
FIFA World Cup yet again
[edit]I'm ready for it. And I must admit you're better at presenting articles than I am :) Conscious 11:35, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure I'm ready, but that a moot point now ;). There's nothing like the pressure of a featured nomination to make you do work on an article. We've a way to go yet, but I think we can get there. Oldelpaso 19:59, 10 April 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for the barnstar, its certainly cheered me up after having an article listed on AfD. The FAC is looking promising at the moment, but I'm still looking to make improvements. I suppose the biggest question is what content to put in the main article and what to put in the history one (assuming it survives ;-) ). Oldelpaso 23:27, 12 April 2006 (UTC)
- Anticipating, anticipating... :) Conscious 07:03, 13 April 2006 (UTC)
1942 World Cup
[edit]I noticed that you de-linked this one; I was wondering whether you thought that there would be legs in creating a bit of an article about this world cup that never was? How far did they go into the planning and organization of it? There is a 1944 Summer Olypmics article, after all. Robdurbar 23:13, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
