June 2012[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that the username you have chosen (Icewireless) seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.

There are two issues with this:

  1. It is possible that you have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization or adding links to its website.
  2. Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.

Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guidelines concerning editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. Ice Wireless[edit]

Did you actually notice that I was the one that added it back here. The information is sourced and not blogging or promotion. You may want to remove that incorrect warning that you left on Notsimplemindeds talk page. Also where is there COI notice on the talk page? See Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI. Hi, thank you for pointing that out. In your determination of whether or not to let this edit stand, I would like to point out that there is no source that connects Notsimpleminded's claims of employment to Ice Wireless. If there is no such citation, you must agree that the edit must be rejected as unsourced. I'm not sure how you could let a claim like this stand unsourced. There is no evidence that Notsimpleminded ever worked for this company.

Second issue, even if some connection is made, thousands of consultants and employees have worked for Bell, Telus, Rogers etc. Should they all add paragraphs to the Wiki entries to highlight themselves? Clearly this consultant is trying to use the page to advertise himself.

Regarding COI notice on the talk page, I will happily add that disclaimer to the talk page and comments as yes I am connected to the company, which is how I know Notsimpleminded has no relevance and he is simply trying to grandstand on someone else's Wiki page.

"WP:REL Relevance: On Wikipedia, relevance is a consideration whether a fact or detail in an article is useful to the reader or is out of scope of the article. If a fact is not relevant to the topic of the article, it should not be mentioned in that article. This does not mean it can not be mentioned in some other article. Mentioning things that are irrelevant to an article's topic can unnecessarily bloat an article, making it difficult for a reader to remain focused, and can also give the things mentioned undue weight."

Hi, in order to comply with Wiki guidelines on COI, I have created a user page for Senator88 which describes my connection to Ice Wireless. I will also refrain from making direct edits to Ice Wireless and will make my suggestions on the Talk page. My user page can be found here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Senator88.

I have the agreements I signed with Ice wireles (shall I post the agreements and emails, etc on the wiki page?), I have attached the photographs, etc. I have emails from Tom Zubko, Cameron, etc. Since you WORK for Ice wireless please ask Cameron and Tom on how they would stand outside my door holding media gateways, etc and 'requesting' me to fix it. I could also post other proof. I got involved with Ice wireless because our smartphones (GSM) would not work in Yellowknife. Sri Lanka, where I come from, is WAY MORE ADVANCED in cellular technology than Canada - I will hazard and say that Sri Lanka is way more advanced in many other ways than Canada. I realized that when you removed my article that you were doing it on behalf of Ice Wireless. So, in fact, you have admitted that YOU ARE USING WIKIPEDIA TO PROMOTE ICE WIRELESS - IT IS ICEWIRELESS using the wikipedia as a FREE advertising tool - and you accused me of doing it! I Trust somebbody will notice this and 'block' you as you have threatened to do it to me. I will let the matter rest, I am not CHEAP and I am NOT SHAMELESS! --Notsimpleminded (talk) 01:16, 2 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. From what I can see, an edit request template should not be used. Feel free to review the edit request instructions in case you believe that to be incorrect. Perhaps you should try dispute resolution? Edit request declined. Regards, VB00 (talk) 13:07, 13 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ice Wireless to Senator88[edit]

I am a donor to wikipedia. I am in contact with them on 'gatekeeping' by editors - In other words, I have refused to donate anymore money to Wikipedia until they 'weed out' gatekeeping and prejudiced editors. Will be taking up your account name 'Senator88' with them. I re-affirm I do not have a COI with Ice Wireless and I am not promoting consulting. I am not THAT CHEAP! But I believe you have some sort of a conflict, either with me or Ice Wireless or both. Do you? I don't need to promote myself, I have enough resources and more to build my own 'wiki' if I need to do so. I am NOT SIMPLE MINDED.

Point: The Wikipedia can be a BEAUTIFULL place to play a part in uniting the world. I do wish we can do it without using it for our personal/political/business agendas. The greatest lesson I learned by living with the 'First Nations' in the NWT is that 'WE OWN NOTHING'. I will cherish and value that experience forever.
