Lakeland College

Is the college that you added generally referred to as "Lakeland College"? If so, the college in Wisconsin should be moved and replaced with a disambiguous link page. AJHL/SJHL

Here is the timeline of Jr. A hockey in Lloydminster: Lloydminster Lancers 1982-1988 SJHL - Lloydminster Blazers 1989-2005 AJHL - Lloydminster Bobcats 2005-current AJHL

Lloydminster is a city that resides on the border, so you it has the distinct option to play in either league. I'm unsure on the ownership of the Lloydminster Lancers, the Blazers were started by a group led by Bill Kondro that was interested in joining the Alberta league with the intension that the Lancers would suspend operations and transfer over Jr. A 'playing rights in Lloydminster', for a lack of better terms, due to easier travel in the Alberta league.--Ichauvin 19:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Ichauvin (talk • contribs) 19:54, 7 December 2006 (UTC).[reply]

The Blazers should still be a redirect... I will be redirecting the Lancers article I created as well. It is a lineage thing... we do it with all the teams under the CHL level. DMighton 20:12, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While I agree on the lineage thing, one thing to consider is some of those teams have a deep rooted history that may one day be documented here on Wikipedia. For instance, I have a pack of stats for the Lancers that is collecting dust that may be beneficial on here one day. As well, the Blazers were around for 17 years with ex-NHL alumni associated to that team. Associating those players to the present "Lloydminster Bobcats" to me wouldn't seem right. I could create a link to another page called "Lloydminster Blazers 1989-2005" which talks about that history of the team. Same for the Lancers. What are your thoughts?

If you feel that you have enough info for individual articles... you need to look at what Flibrigit has done with the different OHL teams... ex) Saginaw Spirit. It is my opinion that if a team is of the same lineage, then they are not a defunct team... and I stick to that... what you can do is index the history of the team in its user box with the team's franchise history by bracketing the team name and then inserting the history there (they are currently redirects). Remember to keep things notable... if a deletionist deems an article not-notable... it can turn really ugly trying to keep the article from an "Article for Deletion". If you wish to do this... I'm looking forward to see what you can do... but this treatment is usually kept for Major Junior A teams... the only exceptions I've seen are the Chilliwack Chiefs, St. Albert Saints, and Elliot Lake Vikings.
