Adding disciple of Lahiri Mahasaya

[edit]

Hi Ilyali - if you would like to learn how to edit Wikipedia, the links above are very helpful. If you want to just add a mention of Prakash Shankar Vyas, it's pretty simple. In this case, I think you're probably talking about adding it to the Kriya Yoga page, where there is a list of Lahiri Mahasaya lineage Kriya teachers. The Lahiri Mahasaya page only talks about people who were close and direct disciples of Lahiri Mahasaya, so it wouldn't go there. You can add a short line on the Kriya Yoga page, under the section "That trace their source to Lahiri Mahasaya, through various branches", saying something like "Prakash Shankar Vyas is a disciple of Shree Satya Charan Lahiri Mahasaya, one of the grandsons of Lahiri Mahasaya." If you need more help with this, let me know. ॐ Priyanath talk 23:54, 22 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adding external links can be tricky in general. In this case it might fit with the other links, depending on what you want to link to. You can learn more about external linking here: WP:EL. Keep the link language simple and clear, avoid promotional language, and keep a neutral point of view, WP:NPOV. For example, don't claim in the link that it's the 'Original' Kriya Yoga, since that's not a neutral Point of View. Also, links to sites that promote books, or a product, are frowned upon, and will likely be removed. So if you link to the site of the teacher, it stands a better chance than if it's to the site about a book that's being sold. Also, I suggest you create a new article page about the teacher, if there is published, referenced material about him. ॐ Priyanath talk 02:45, 23 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
